As of July 22 2001 the East Hazel crest Fire Department has 29 members. They serve a community of 1,607 people. As well as many other surrounding communities in the southern suburbs of Chicago.
The East Hazel Crest Fire Department porvides EMS support to their Villiage along with Bud's Ambulance company. The fire department and police department will both have 2 AED's each in the next few months. One will be placed in two of the Police squads, and the fire department will carry one in the EMS Suburban and their engine.
Chief Vallow was honored for his 50 years of service to the fire department, with a plaque and a check for 5,000 dollars. On September 16th the Villiage will again honor him by renaming the fire house after him. |
