Mt. Sterling

Sept. 3 + 4 Retreated from Mt. Sterling Ky. to Maysville, Ky after the defeat of the Federals at Richmond, Ky.
Sept. 26, with the force under Lt. Col. Wilson of the 44 O.V.I. overtook Bazil Duke's rebel regt. of Morgan's Brigade at Brooksville, Ky. totally routing the rebels from the place.
Oct. 1st, eleven men of this company together with 6 other men had a picket fight at Mason county fair grounds with Col. Hollidays rebel regt. after a sharp skirmish the rebels retreated.
Oct. 16, 17 + 18, Returned with the regiment from Maysville to Mt. Sterling, Ky and on the day we arrived, captured quite a number of Humphrey Marshall's men since which time we have been on various scouts doing good service in the way of capturing rebels.
