| When it comes down to it, it's all about the music. I can never get enough of it. I listen to bands ranging from the wallflowers, Bob Marley, sublime, and everything in between. Since I was three years old, I've wanted to play music and especially drums. I started out playing on the kitchen pots and pans, and have since graduated to the set and other percussion instruments, including tympani and piano. My earliest drumming inspiration came from my father, who has always told me to follow my dreams and to never give up. My drum teacher Drew, who always told me to, "play loud," has also pushed me to the best I can be. As far as professional drummers, I'm inspired by Carter Beauford, of the "Dave Matthews Band," solo artist Dave Weckl, John Bonham of "Led Zeppelin," Shane Evens of "Collective Soul," and Mitch Michell, drummer for "Jimi Hendrix." Jim and I started out Playing into a tape recorder in my basement about 5 years ago, and it's amazing to see how far the band has come, and god only knows how far we'll go. |
