I was pleasantly surprised by the video transfer. Very detailed and sharp. However the source print is in pretty poor shape. There is a scene in chapter 3 where the print slightly shakes. Needless to say, it's incredibly annoying. The usual continuous scratches and tears are present. I've seen films in worse condition though. Burnt in subtitles which feature the usual mistakes. The ratio of 2:1 is not the film's correct widescreen ratio, consequently information is sometimes lost at the sides. This is especially noticeable during the opening credit sequence.
Audio: 5/10
Mono as intended. Ok but there are sounds of static which occur from time to time.
Extras: 0/10
Zilch. Unless you count scene selection (and who the hell does?).
Overall: 5/10
I'd heard good things about this film but was sadly disappointed. There are a couple of good fights (supposedly choreographed by Jackie Chan) but nothing much else. It's a shame Jackie himself didn't appear in the film. Considering this is an old film by an independent studio this is a competent disc. I wouldn't expect anybody to be willing to remaster this film so if you want to see the film this is the best way.
