Picture
The transfer is done nicely however the master print used is quite worn. Clearly the negative hasn't been kept in good condition since there are many speckles and scratches. Colours are good and the actual picture is much brighter than the previous UK video release (by VPD). However the print really doesn't do the film any justice. However the film is in its original widescreen ratio and that is a huge bonus since the cinematography of some scenes uses the entire width of the screen (which is totally lost in its Pan &Scanned version.
Sound
Not bad. I have a strict opinion on HK 5.1 mixes and that's that they never sound entirely right but aren't bad enough to be deemed 'poor'. Not outstanding but capable. I wish they'd stop pissing around with the soundtracks and clean up their prints instead.
Extras
Nothing special. The usual bios, selections, trailers. Nothing outstanding. A shame.
Overall
It's a nice film, not the best Jackie has done, but certainly not his worst. The DVD matches this film description. Not the best disc in the world, but also not the worst. If you like the film and are prepared to look over the condition of the print, then get it.
