My Angel Kitties

Chester and Oliver welcome you!

No amount of time can erase the memory of a good cat, and no amount of masking tape can ever totally remove his fur from your couch.

Chester                                                   Oliver

This page is dedicated to Chester and Oliver, my two kitties who passed away. Chester died last summer from an unknown illness and Oliver died a month ago from FIV*. Both were very sweet, lovable kitties who loved to play with Amber. They are now my angel kitties and this is their little area of the cyber world. Amber and I will continue to miss Chester and Oliver until that special day when we will all cross over the rainbow bridge together.

IN LOVING MEMORY OF CHESTER

Chester came to live with me on the same day that Amber did. I got both of them as baby kittens, and they were buddies from the start. Chester was such a playful kitten! He loved to play with Amber and his toys. He loved jingle balls, his toy mouse, scratching pads, and anything else he could get his paws on. I could always count on seeing him scampering around the house playing with something. On day, right before I went out of town, Chester seemed a little down--not quite as playful as usual. I thought it was strange, but he didn't seem sick, so I figured he was just tired. While I was away, my friend that was taking care of my cats told me that Chester was acting very lethargic. Concerned, I planned to take him to the vet when I got home. Unfortunately, he didn't make it that long. I was shocked that he went down so quickly. Amber and I were so sad that we had to say goodbye to our kitty friend so quickly. Even though Chester's life was very short, he was a very special kitten and one that I will never forget!

IN LOVING MEMORY OF OLIVER

Oliver was Amber's second brother after the death of Chester. From the moment I saw him I knew we'd be great friends. He was a beautiful shiny solid black with yellow eyes. Since he was a very shy kitty, he loved to hide when a visitor came. But when it was just us, he came out and played and purred and climbed all over me. He loved his sister cat Amber. Chasing her around the house was his favorite thing to do. Oliver didn't like to be alone. He wasn't happy unless he was with me or Amber. With Amber he loved to wrestle and play. With me, he loved to lie in my lap or climb on me and give me kisses. The day I found out he had FIV was one of the saddest days. I held him in my arms and cried the last few days of his life. He showed his appreciation by licking the tears off my face. Amber and I will always miss our buddy, Oliver.

Below is a poem that was written about where pets go after death. It's dedicated to all of the well loved pets who have passed on.

T H E    R A I N B O W    B R I D G E

There is a beautiful crystal bridge connecting Heaven and Earth.
It is called the Rainbow Bridge because of its many colours.
Just this side of the Rainbow Bridge there is a land
of meadows, hills, and valleys with lush green grass.

When a beloved pet dies, the pet goes to this place.
There is always food and warm spring weather.
The old and frail animals are young again.
Those who are maimed are made whole again.
They play all day with each other,
cats and dogs alike,
chasing the butterflies,
playing with the wonderful toys hidden like surprises in the grass,
and sleeping in the warm sunshine.

There is only one thing missing:
they are not with their special person who loved them on Earth.

So, each day they run and play...
until the day comes when one suddenly stops playing and looks up.

The nose twitches!
The ears are up!
The whiskers are quivering!
The eyes are staring!

And this one suddenly runs from the group!

You have been seen,
and when you and your special friend meet,
you take them into your arms and embrace.
Your face is kissed again and again and again,
and you look once more into the loving eyes of your trusting companion.

Then you cross the Rainbow Bridge together,
never again to be separated.
