RESEARCH PROJECTS
SYSTEM STUDIES FIELD
Various energy systems constitute research subjects at all levels of the university curriculum, namely diploma, M.Sc. and Ph.D. projects. Primary energy can be renewable or non-renewable. They are experimental and/or theoretical, depending on the project. System studies are carried out using thermodynamic laws (first and second laws and exergy analysis) and engineering evaluation techniques. General areas are:
THERMOFLUID FIELD
Experimental and theoretical heat transfer problems in passive solar components with and without thermal storage, building components, electronic components, industrial furnaces, phase change systems such as in metallurgical applications and thermal storage systems constitute research projects. Natural or mixed convection coupled with conduction and/or radiation heat transfer in fluid or porous media is studied using experimental, analytical and numerical techniques.
OPPORTUNITY FOR GRAD STUDIES
Research Assistanships are available for interested students with good standing (above 3 on 4) at M.Sc. or Ph.D. level; please contact E. Bilgen .
