We met online through Yahoo! Personals in March of 1998. I was finishing up my senior year in South Carolina and he lived in Georgia where my family resided. We talked for a bit over email, then decided to meet face to face during my spring break. I invited him to my grandmother's home where what we expected to be only a few hours turned into an almost all-day visit. He was funny, sharp, playful, gentle & very attentive. It was instant liking on both sides & we became fast friends. When I went back to school, we continued talking & getting to know one another. I invited him up to my school for the weekend for plays & get-togethers around the city.

After graduation, I stayed in S. Carolina for the rest of the year. We continued our courtship which was special since it seemed we each had finally found our soulmate. He proposed to me November 27, 1998, the day before Thanksgiving over dinner. The next day we shared the news with my family, who received the news with a WIDE variety of feelings, thoughts & advice. We were engaged for nearly 3 years, supported each other through ups & downs. We married in a quiet courthouse on February 4, 2000 and haven't looked back since.
