Smoking and alcohol may lead a young woman to a wasteful
incarnation. The image on the left portrays the erratic life of a mother who is not
capable of leading her children along the path of honour and duty. Her bad attendance
makes evident the decline and approaching fall of a capricious human being. |

As a rule, spiritual attendance is very bad in
nightclubs, bars, casinos, etc. Wherever vice prevails, the spirits of the Inferior Astral
predominate. In these places where smoking, drinking and gambling prevail, conservation
also fosters sensualism. All this contributes to attract inferior spirits and their
affinity with those who often attend these places is complete. The sensual thoughts of the
incarnate are therefore influenced by the affinitive intuitions of the disincarnate. Such
places are suitable for the attraction and attendance of some of the spirits commonly
found in such environments which may eventually bring about material loss and moral
decadence in professional and social life. |

The sad picture of a drunkard holding on to a pole,
encircled by the bad attendance brought with him from the saloon he just left. He lacks
courage to face the struggle for life. He is paving the way to tragic days with the help
of his wicked attendance. Thus are those who live without knowing why they live. They
could reason but they do not want to trouble themselves with reasoning. They prefer to
remain in the apathy of their environment. Their already feeble will becomes weaker and
weaker. It is in this way that millions of individuals lose successive incarnations and
only the upheavals, that from time convulse the world, will arouse some from their
lethargy. |

It is not always possible, at social gatherings, to avoid
the presence of obstinate "lady-killers" who take advantage of such
opportunities to address flattering but ill-meaning gallantries at the ladies. Such
individuals are always surrounded by wicked astral attendance, as shown in the left
picture. The black circles represent obsessor spirits that stimulate such wicked feelings.
The lady, who is endowed with excellent moral character, is encircled by a clean ambience,
hence the seductive thrusts of the false "gentleman" did not produce the desired
results. |

The image on the left shows one of the ways leading to
obsession. A reveler often has female shapes in his mind. If they are unenlightened
clairvoyant mediums, they may be encircled by forms like those shown above. They are
spirits of the Inferior Astral that appear in this form in order to jeer the instinctive,
uncontrolled inclinations of such individuals. Under these circumstances these revelers
shelter lascivious thoughts which are much to their liking, to the point of gradually and
heedlessly becoming prey to such influences. |

A sick child and its mother, who is getting ready to go
out on a love affair. Frivolity has a strong attraction to the Inferior Astral, and it is
here represented by the dark faces surrounding the woman. The greatest victim of these
inferior forces is the defenseless child, who is subject to the mother's harmful
attendance. This may bring unfortunate consequences such as childhood disincarnations,
caused by lack of maternal instinct, improper upbringing, absence of a sound moral
behaviour and ignorance about spiritual life. |
