The Politician
May 14, 2001

He grabs the cash with gnarled hands;
Close to the public, makes amends
On Tax and Health reforms, he stands.

The taxpayers beneath him crawl;
He watches from his Mansion tall
And like a vulture he us galls.

Original Poem:
The Eagle

He clasps the crag with crooked hands;
Close to the sun in lonely lands,
Ringed with the azure world, he stands.

The wrinkled sea beneath him crawls;
He watches from his mountain walls
And like a thunderbolt he falls.

                       Alfred, Lord Tennyson
