We will have 3 new Lieutenants joining the Company starting in August.  They plan on showing up for the FSG picnic in July - this would be a good time to get to know your new platoon leaders.

SFC Miller will be handling "Operation Pattrucci" in August.  Those interested in volunteering for this mission may see him for the details.  J

To quote the manual (FM 17-98)platoon is not designed to fight or act as tank killers. It is designed to perform reconnaissance and limited security missions, by using proper movement techniques (mounted AND dismounted) and stealth." This principle holds true REGARDLESS of whether you're in or if you're in a Humvee or a Bradley. Only tanks and Cobras are supposed to fight, because they're the only ones who have the lethality and survivability necessary to do that part of the mission. Leave it to them to do the job. The smart scout watches and calls in artillery. Here's the thinking:

ore, the primary weapon of the scout is INDIRECT FIRE. This means artillery or mortars. Cannon cockers are paid to fire cannons. Use them. Sometimes, if the weather is good, the Air Force will fly and drop bombs for you, but don't count on it. You can build aviation into a plan, but you can't build a plan around aviation.
