CHIAPAS AND ITS MAYAN JUNGLE

8 days / 7 nights


In this wonderfull ecotour we will visit Tuxtla Gutierrez, Cañon del Sumidero, San Cristobal, Agua azul, Toniná, Lacanjá, Bonampak, Yaxchilan, Usumacinta River


 

Day 1

Reception at Tuxtla Gutierrez airport and transfer to your hotel in Tuxtla.  City tour which includes the Cathedral, the Government Palace, the Anthropology Museum, and botanical gardens.  Special visit to the regional Zoo.

 

Day 2

Transfer to Chiapa de Corzo to visit its colonial monuments.  Followed by a boat tour in the Sumidero Canyon on the Grijalva River.  Transfer to hotel in San Cristobal.

 

Day 3

In San Cristobal de Las Casas, a city tour on foot followed by a horseback to the Indian village of San Juan Chamula.  Afternoon free.

 

Day 4

Travel through the Central Mountains of Chiapas, down to the archaeological site of Tonina.  Lunch, followed by the Agua Azul Cascades.  Afternoon free.  Dinner and overnight stay in a campsite next to the most beautiful falls in southeastern Mexico.

 

Day 5

Breakfast.  Drive through the Lacandon rain forest to the Chol Indian village of Lacanja.  Lunch.  Visit Bonampak.  Camp on the banks of Lacanja River.  Dinner.

 

Day 6

Breakfast.  Transfer to the Usumacinta River.  Boat trip. All day tour at the archaeological site of Yaxchilan, where you will appreciate the monumental vestiges of this Mayan city, as well as absorb the vast variety of flora and fauna in this tropical rain forest sanctuary.  Lunch, dinner, camp on Usumacinta Banks.

 

Day 7

Breakfast at camp. Transfer to the hotel in Palenque.  Visit the archaeological site.

 

Day 8

Transfer to Villahermosa. Visit La Venta Park Museum.  Airport transfer.  Excursion ends.

Important information for the Mayan Jungle trip:

It is highly recommended that you bring adequate clothing for tropical weather and jungle trekking, such as blue jeans, long-sleeve cotton shirts, light comfortable boots or shoes, bathing suit, insect repellent, flashlight, suntan lotion and personal toiletries.  Fishing gear is permitted, but firearms are strictly forbidden.

We provide the following camping gear:  tents, sleeping mats, blankets, towels and latrines.  The specified meals follow a variable and nutritious diet, and are provided by the agency's team.

 

Includes:

4 nights lodging in hotel, 3 night camping. 7 breakfast, 3 lunches and 2 dinners.  Admission to archaeological sites, events, and/or other places mentioned in the itinerary

 

 

Not Included:

Personal expenses, alcoholic drinks, soft drinks, tips for guides, phone calls.

 

Reservation Policies:

F     We required 50% of pre payment to make any reservation

F     Trip must be fully paid 8 days beafore departure date

F     All tourist services are subject to a 15% tax in Mexico. Please consult our rates.

 

Cancellations:

F     All cancellation must be submitted in writing.

F     All cancellations have a charge of 20% of payment done.

F     Less than 15 days of departure date there will be not reinmbursments.

F     No reinmbursments will be given for no shows that are not the fault of the airline companies or poor weather conditions.

F     Once the service begins we do not reimburse for services the passengers decide not to use.
