Economics is everywhere. Whether you are an accounting, finance and law, marketing, information systems, or management major, you will use economics in your field.
The Economics and Business Society will help you gain a strong applications of economics to your field of study. Through our workshops, guest speakers from the professional business world, and extensive networking at our social events, the Economics and Business Society will provide you with the tools required to apply economics to your field.
You attend meetings, serve on committees, run for elected office, go on field trips/conferences, come to speaking engagements, attend social activities, and network with your peers and other professionals from the business world.
Monthly meetings may take one an a half hours, but plan to spend time in our other activities as well.
EBS will set up a tutoring committee to provide tutors.
Can I get involved in debates through the EBS?
Debates on various economic and business related issues are planned.
Can I get help looking for summer jobs or internships through the EBS?
There will be a committee assigned to help locate summer and intern jobs with local employers and government agencies. Since the number of jobs will vary depending on the current state of the economy, no guarantees can be made by EBS, but we can guarantee you that we will give it our best efforts to getting you those jobs/internships. We will also provide help in résumé writing and interviewing training.
We will provide EBS members with work shops in statistical software packages (such as Limpdep, SAS, and SPSS). EBS will also provide scholarship opportunities and. tutoring services.
