GARY RICHARDS, the road show guru of San Jose Mercury News, will be our speaker on Thursday, March 27. With more cars (posm’s) and more stupid drivers out there on our highways and by-ways than ever before in history, something that Gary has to say might well save your life. The comment so often stated today is “Drive Carefully and BUCKLE UP!” Plan to attend this unique meeting, We had published this same announcement for the February meeting which did not take place because of Engineers Week. But Gary will be with us on Thursday, March 27.

ROYCE DALE DETWILER

DALE DETWILER passed away on March 14. He was President of Engineers Club several years ago and was always a staunch supporter of its efforts. He was the leading contributor last year. Dale was a square-shooter, and enjoyed everything he did. He will be missed, certainly, but will be remembered for his interest in many things. He was a flyer and had one of the unique airplanes that he loved. It took off at 120, flew at 120, and landed at 120.

Like Porky Pig says, Th-th-that’s all folks! We simply ran out of time — but wanted to get a notice out the the members.

DUES
Many members have sent in dues — many of them beyond amounts due, and the board is pleased to extend its thanks. There are some stalwarts, however, who haven’t yet paid any dues. Whatever you can send in will be handled for the good of the club. Can we count on you for a few bucks?

Talk about burning midnight oil — ye olde editor of the Dope Sheet is at the job at 10:45 on Saturday, March 22. He has some reports to get out, and will leave for Austin, TX, on March 23, for a 3-day stint at a mediation. He still has to get his traveling bag ready, to go through the airport screening tomorrow, and wait around who knows how long.

But he is dedicated to doing the job, which takes a considerable amount of time. After the Dope Sheet is ready, there are labels to print, printing to do, and folding and mailing.
