Mrs. Angela Sloan Mitchell earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Work with a Child Welfare Concentration in 1976.

Mrs. Mitchell is a Senior Staff Claims Adjuster with Allstate Insurance Company. She has been employed in the insurance industry for 26 years.

Mrs. Mitchell and her husband serve as board members on the East Carolina University Parent’s Council. She and her husband also serve as members of the Ledonia Wright Cultural Center Advisory Board

Ms. Mitchell met her husband, James Wallace Mitchell at East Carolina University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology in 1974. They have two children, Mrs. Christina Mitchell Rush, a 2001 graduate of East Carolina University with a Bachelor of Science in English; and Camille Yvonne Mitchell, a rising senior at East Carolina University majoring in Clinical Laboratory Science. As you can see Mrs. Mitchell and her family solidly support East Carolina University.
