*Alborado - 12-91 Sucre y Lourdes - $5.00 con bano.

*Los Orqideas - 8-59 Bolivar - $5.00 con bano. OK.

*Hotel Miraflores - 10 de Agosto 16-71 - $3.00 - con bano. Really saggy bed, bad smell, depressing. Not recommended

Hotel Podocarpus - ??? - $13.00 - con bano y desayuno. Very nice, friendly.

Hostall Vallto - Guaranda 13-45 y Gran Colombia - $6.00 - con bano. Above game room in market area relatively close to bus.

Cambio Delos?? - Sucre 11-10 - $8.00

Estacion Cientifica San Francisco - $15 to $30 (shared?) - including full board, electricity, hot water, securit, e-mail access and park entrance fees - 30 km from Loja and Zamora, at the Northern limit of Podocarpus National Park. The station can be reached from Loja in 40 minutes on a paved road.

Places to Eat

Rincon de Francia - Valdevieso 06-70 y 10 de Agosto - Fancy trappings. Nice garden with art. Pretentious. Shrimp meal not good. Try hamburger.

Cafe Rizzoto - Riofrio 14-19 - Vegetarian. Had a sloppy burger and coffee for $1.10

Chicken Place - Sandy? - 14-49 Mercadillo - cuarto de pollo con sopa, arroz, papas, ensalada for $1.70. Coke $.40. More on Mercadillo.
