75. On occasion and if requested by the family, a non-Catholic spouse or other family member may be given full rites of Christian Burial, including Mass and interment in a Catholic cemetery where Catholic family members are or will be buried. If the deceased was an active member of another Communion, the leadership of that community should be consulted.
76. When requested by the family and after consultation with the decedent's pastor, if any, priests may conduct funeral services for a non-Catholic in funeral homes or at the gravesite. On such occasions, they should use prayers and Bible readings from our ritual. They may also, if invited, participate in the funeral services conducted by the minister of the Church of the deceased.
77. Priests may officiate at the gravesite rites in other than Catholic cemeteries, both for Catholics and members of other Ecclesial Communities. The priest is to bless the grave at the beginning of the committal rite.
78. Clergy of other Ecclesial Communities are welcome to conduct services for their own people whose interment takes place in a Catholic cemetery.
