Getting Over When a president tells you, you should "get over" in his federation, what does that mean? He means that everyone should have a general idea of what your character is about. If I could say "Big Dawg" Jarred Irons's character for at least a paragraph, than his character should be over. There are a few hints that can be given to "getting over." The first one is know your material. There are boundaries in getting over. If your character is a Japanese American with four teeth in the back of his mouth, don't expect him to be chewing up a steak. Make sure when your character is talking about things, that he knows what he is talking about. Your character's pure description has to be something you know about. So make sure your character is something you can relate too. What are you good at? What is one piece of your personality that you think could get over? When you create a character it has to be someone that suits you, some character you can highly relate to. Remember, your character is only what others interpret him to be. Make something different. Make a character who is unique. If 50 guys have the same character, who's more likely to get over? None of them are. People are tired of watching the same things over and over and over. When thinking of a character, do not think of a roster. Do not say, I think I'll make a combination, or I'll make him similar too except. He has to be your own incantation. In bigger feds it's harder to get over with rip offs with so many established characters. Some may turn to a joke character. Joke characters get over extremely fast, but. They can be made a joke faster than they can be made serious. Some joke characters may spend months re-working their look so that they're more serious, by the end not a bit of the original character remains. Make sure your character is your character, and nobody elses. If you steal parts from another e-wrestler, you'll find it hard to use. You can use your own creation a lot easier than someone elses. Continuous role-playing. That's one of the main things you must do. Role-play 1-2 a week minimum. Do not leave the federation or take breaks from the federation. Make sure each of your role-plays is at the same quality. Keep in mind to get established you should be making it more so quality than quantity. Presidents tend to pick people to be "over" who are consistant role-players and who role-play well. You need to catch the presidents eye with something. Involve your character in angles and feuds. Not at the start, that doesn't make much sense. After 1-2 weeks of being a federation approach one of the members and discuss feuding with them, read the feuding guide for this. The better your angle or feud is, the better a chance you have of getting "over." Follow all of these and chances are you won't have a problem in getting over in an e-fed. |
