Gene and Jim are basically bounty hunters, they do just about any job for money. Jim does some mechanics, while Gene does the tough work. They eventually luck into a ship and learn about a treasure, the Layline.. it will grant you anything, and has ultimate knowledge. One of the people they pick up (Melfina) happens to be the key to the Layline.. she just doesn't know it yet. Anyway they pick up a few good friends and continue on the adventure to find the Layline.. they get into plenty of fights with pirates and other dangerous people.. thats about it.
