The truth behind the change of the
Georgia
Flag
The real Georgia flag, and by far the most popular is on the left, King Roy Barnes's flag of shame is on the right.
The politicians will tell you more lies than you can shake a stick at why the Georgia flag was changed, first the lies, then the truth:
#1 Lie: Businesses didn't want to move to Ga. because of the flag on the left. This is an insult to our intelligence, anyone with any sense knows that the only reason a business moves is to make more money. Any business contemplating a move to Ga. looks at the bottom line and couldn't care less what the flag looks like.
#2 Lie: Some have said that the Confederate Battle Flag, the right two thirds of the flag on the left, has been linked to modern day hate groups and for that reason alone it needs to be changed. Have you noticed that modern day hate groups also carry the US flag, but nothing is ever said about changing the American flag. The old Ga. flag just happened to fit into some politicians reelection plans by kissing up to certain modern day hate groups that I will mention later.
#3 Lie: The only way that the basketball playoffs would come to Atlanta was for the governor (King Roy Barnes) to promise to change the flag. Even if this is true it is giving in to blackmail and who does King Roy think he is to change the flag anyway? If it takes giving up the Ga. flag to watch a basketball game full of overpaid crybabies then I say send the games straight to you know where.
#4 Lie: Some have said that the old flag stood for slavery and for that reason it alone it should be changed. "Slavery was legal under the American flag for around 80 years. If you follow their reasoning then why don't they want to change the U.S. flag? Again the Ga. flag fits into some hate groups hidden agenda.
The war was fought for different ideas of how the federal government should be run. The northern states wanted a stronger federal government while the south wanted the states to have the most power. Fewer than ten percent of the population owned slaves and it was not the main overriding reason for the war. Most people in the south were fighting to preserve their state rights which they thought were being eroded by the centralized government. Most people in the north were fighting to preserve the union. General Grant made the comment "If I thought this war was being fought for any other reason than to preserve the union I would surrender my sword to General Lee". Read between the lines, he wasn't fighting to free slaves. Slavery became a bigger issue late in the war as it was used as a moral issue to bolster fading support for the war effort in the north. President Lincoln's wife owned slaves. Lincoln made the comment that the two races would never be equal and the he preferred the white race to be the superior, the slaves great EMANCIPATOR even had planned to send the slaves back to Africa. The emancipation proclamation only freed slaves in "Those states which are in rebellion to the union" , states which were not under his jurisdiction until after the war, and did not address slaves in the north. The northern states were where the slaves came into America and it was the northerners who sold them to the south. How dare the northern states feel that they hold the high moral ground. "
Now the TRUE reasons the Ga. flag was changed:
I would be the first to admit that blacks should have never been slaves and that blacks have been mistreated in the past, however that is the PAST. Their are no slaves or slave owners alive in the U.S. today, everyone is responsible for their own life and what they make of it. Are the people alive today to pay for earlier generations, if your father steals do you go to jail also?
The NAACP fought to get equal rights for blacks and has succeeded in that goal. In the late 80's equal rights was accomplished and all of the NAACP's goals were met, there will always be isolated incidents which need addressing however that could be handled by the courts. The NAACP found itself essentially without a goal, the leaders were accustomed to living "high on the hog: and we won't even go into the numerous charges of embezzlement. How do we keep the blacks sending in their money was a problem that had to be solved, the Confederate States of America to the rescue. Now the NAACP will fight against symbols which they claim hurt their feelings, let's keep anything stirred up so the money will keep rolling in. The NAACP formed the following resolution:
The 1991 NAACP
Confederate Flag Resolution
VII. INTERNAL AFFAIRS
1. Resolution Abhorring the Confederate Battle Flag on State Flags
Approved
WHEREAS, the tyrannical evil symbolized in the Confederate Battle Flag is an
abhorrence to all Americans and decent people of this country, and indeed, the
world and is an odious blight upon the universe; and,
WHEREAS, African-Americans, had no voice, no consultation, no concurrence, no
commonality, not in fact nor in philosophy, in the vile conception of the
Confederate Battle Flag or State Flags containing the ugly symbol of idiotic
white supremacy, racism and denigration; and,
WHEREAS, we adamantly reject the notion that African-Americans should accept
this flag for any stretch of imagination or approve its presence on the State
Flags;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the national Office of the NAACP and all
units commit their legal resources to the removal of the Confederate Flag from
all public properties.
As you can see it is an INTERNAL AFFAIRS resolution not to be made public but it leaked out anyway.
Whether you like it or not a large portion of the Democratic power base is the same people that the NAACP claim to represent. Many blacks are fifth generation welfare families and if they vote it will be Democrat, the party that put them on welfare in the first place. Now the NAACP "National Association Of Always Complaining People" threaten to pull their support from those politicians who do not push or vote for the Ga. flag to be changed. This is blackmail pure and simple. Zell Miller tried to change the flag and was shocked at the response he received, King Roy Barnes was smarter, he made his plans behind closed doors. In exchange for future support from blacks he BLACKMAILED our so called representatives into going along with a flag change. How did he blackmail them, he threatened to withhold state funds from their districts if they voted against the flag change. This is common knowledge as some who voted against this travesty admitted that they received this ultimatum from the governor. Many voted against King Roy however the Democratic vote was almost unanimous and the deed was done. The governor could not care less what the people of Ga. want, every survey done showed that over seventy percent of the people of Ga. did not want the flag changed. The governor knew this and that is why he did not push for it to be put to a vote by the people as it was in Mississippi, where they voted to keep their flag. Well that is why the flag was changed, by lies, threats, blackmail, and closed door deals, not one good legitimate reason.
If you would like to tell King Roy what you think of him he can be contacted at the following; Governor, Roy"I don't care what the majority want", Barnes
The flag itself is bad enough but it doesn't stop there, the NAACP is rolling along like a snowball down a mountain. The flag is only the beginning:
Monuments are being moved, if you don't believe me contact the city of Albany Ga. and ask where you can find the Confederate Monument. A school in Louisiana named after GEORGE WASHINGTON was renamed because the NAACP said that he was a slave owner. Streets are being renamed, I could go on forever, including criminal acts against anyone who dares to display their pride in their Confederate ancestors. These acts have even escalated to the level of murder, Michael Westerman was killed for having a Confederate flag on his vehicle. Whether or not the blacks who killed Westerman were NAACP I do not know , however you have to think about whether their attack on southern symbols influenced these guys.
Somewhere we have to draw the line and say enough is enough, if you can wear your Malcom X cap then by God I'll wear what I please also.
If you are proud of your southern heritage just think about how the NAACP views you:
the tyrannical evil symbolized in the Confederate Battle Flag is an abhorrence to all Americans and decent people of this country, and indeed, the world and is an odious blight upon the universe; and,
ugly symbol of idiotic white supremacy, racism and denigration
That is how the NAACP views you, sounds like a hate group doesn't it? It is my opinion that one way to stop the NAACP is to have them declared or viewed as a hate group. Please contact your elected officials and demand that the war being waged by the NAACP toward Southern History be stopped. They demand that their history be preserved why not ours?
