Eddie's Pizza Cafe was born in Stockton, California, on April 11, 1978 in an historical building at 1419 South El Dorado Street. The restaurant that had formerly been at that location since the 1930's, Eddie's Coffee Shop, had been a favorite of George Badway and other Stocktonians for many years. So, when he bought the property and started a small pizza café, Badway kept the well-known name for this popular location. In 1986, the restaurant was completely remodeled, with increased lighting for customer safety, redecorated interior and new food preparation equipment. Since then, several other interior and exterior remodels have occurred.

In February 1983, a second Eddie's was opened at 1048 East Waterloo Road. Using local architects and contractors, the facility was designed to exceed earthquake and energy efficiency requirements. The Waterloo Road location was remodeled in 19xx.

In November 1989, a third Eddie's opened at 1304 East Hammer Lane, a rapidly growing area of new homes and apartments. This restaurant features a private meeting room and a state-of-the-art stainless steel kitchen and food preparation equipment. The Hammer Lane location was remodeled in 1999 to offer more additional small meeting or event areas. Eddie's Billiards opened next door, at 1306 East Hammer Lane in Some Month, 19xx.

From 1978 until today, the business has thrived by serving high-quality products to families and businesses in the neighborhoods surrounding the three locations. In addition, the General Managers at each store follow good business practices and carefully direct safe and courteous service to customers. Badway says " We've learned to never cut corners and never compromise on quality. You can buy a cheaper pizza in Stockton but you can't buy a pizza of Eddie's quality for less money." From its beginning, the company has maintained family-oriented restaurants. The three locations are well lit, seating is comfortable and family dine-in specials are regularly featured.

Innovation is the lifeline in the highly competitive pizza industry. In 1990, Eddie's became on of the early full-service restaurants to being home delivery service. In 1991, the company expanded its menu to include pasta dishes, a greater variety of sandwiches and broasted chicken. In 1992, the company purchased a portable pizza- baking unit, allowing fresh-baked food service at fairs and special events. In 1994, the company brought out the "Big Ed", a 24" giant pizza. Throughout its history, Eddie's has offered special dinner packages, including salads and other side dishes in high value family meals.
