IN THE FIELD & RING

BOTH OF THE ABOVE PICTURES ARE OF MY BOY ARCHER. RIGHT FROM THE START HE WOULD ACCOMPANY ME INTO THE FIELD WHEN I WENT OUT TO THROW FOR THE OLDER DOGS IN THE TRAINING GROUP. ONE DAY HE AMAZED US ALL BY COMING OUT OF NO-WHERE WITH A FRESH KILLED DUCK THAT WAS HALF THE SIZE OF HIM ! ! ! WE NEVER DID FIND OUT WHERE THE BIRD CAME FROM BUT TO THIS DAY HE NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME WITH HIS DESIRE TO BRING HOME THE BIRDS

Archer and I attended our first Hunt test on May 27th 2001 held by the L.O.C. in Luther Marsh, Ontario. Archer worked hard and steady to attain his first leg towards his JH. title under respected Judges Ruth Beach and Sandra Bond.

ARCHER DOES IT! ! ! He completed his Junior Hunter title last weekend at the EPS trials, held June 9th ( Judges: Gary Quig & Roger Bannister ) & 10th (Judges: Gina Luloff & Bill Mullan ) 2001 in Powassan, Ontario. On both days we couldn't have asked for better weather or nicer Judges.

ARCHER EARNS NEW TRACKING DOG TITLE !

Archer and I had the opportunity to participate in our first Tracking Test ever on Oct.21, 2001.... he was one of four dogs out of eight to PASS !!!!! The test itself was put on by the wonderful members of The Cross Country Tracking Club in Clarington, Ontario and judged by Marie P. Babin. We had near perfect conditions, overcast and damp with a light wind. The fields were beautiful alfalfa and grass about 8"-10" in height. The track itself was 405 meters with 4 turns and aged for 30 min. Archer completed the track in 10 min. and he kept me working all the way. He gave me a bit of a scare when I fouled the line between his legs while he searched out a corner, but as he was working pretty steadily, I didn't dare risk stopping him, so I just followed along behind him to a great finish with a solid indication of the glove. Coming off the track I thought the weather had finally broken and we were in for a real downpour but it was just Susan Coutts , friend and instructor as she burst into tears.......a big "Thank You" is owed to her as we could/would never have done it without her hard work and guidance ! After the track we all went back to headquarters for a great lunch and for the presentation and pictures. With Archer being the only male in the test he got to flirt with a few of the girls, at least until one little Pointer bitch stole his heart away :o)

ARCHER AND EVE BOTH EARN THEIR OBEDIENCE TITLE !

Both Archer and Eve completed their CD. titles outdoors in June, 2002 at the Nipissing Kennel Club Trials. A great time was had by all with fun and games after the trial. Since no pictures were taken I deny all the stories of my going through the tunnel with Eve just to win the toy!

Kira earns her Working Certificate Title in the spring of 2002 at the EPS annual Spring Retriever Trials.

Kira earns a CD title the first time out, passing all four trials entered including a high in class at the NKC trials Oct. 12th & 13th 2002! Kira also went Reserve Winners Bitch during her conformation debut.

On Nov 28, 2002 Archer is awarded the Golden Retriever Club of Canada newly issued "Versatility Certificate" in recognition of his achievements in the areas of Conformation, Performance and Field !!!

To complete his Canadian Championship ! Archer takes Best of Winners and Best of Breed under respected judge Barbara Innes at the EPS Show held in Powassan on May 31, 2003.

Kira recently earned her Companion Dog Excellent ( CDX ) title Thanksgiving weekend of 2003 at the NKC Shows and Trials. She passed 6 for 6 in the obedience ring with 4 high in class and once again taking highest aggregate score for a Golden Retriever and highest score for an NKC member.
Above all Kira received praise from respected Judge Marguerite Charter for her fantastic attitude and obvious joy to be performing in the obedience ring ! Kira is the first dog I have ever trained to this level and she sure made me look good with her flair and style !!!

Lucy earns her Working Certificate Title at the Powassan EPS Retriever Trials August 2005.

Ripley takes Best Puppy in Group under Judge Olie Nielsen at the Nipissing Kennel Club Show in October 2005.

On June 9 2006 Lucy passes her Junior Hunt Test at the Powassan EPS Trials to earn 1 leg towards her JH title, only 2 more to go!

Kira also takes a break from the obedience ring this year to return to the field and earns her Working Certificate Intermediate title at the EPS Working Tests on July 5, 2006. Two Land Doubles, two Water Doubles and a perfect Honour. No matter what I ask of this dog she gives me her all!
