1. Chateau Lascombes 1994,$30,score:88,01/31/97 "A wine of wonderful finesse, offering lovely,dense aromas of berries, licorice and black currants, very fine tannins and a long, silky finish. Drink or hold."

2. Chateau d'Armailhac 1994,$27,score:86,01/31/97 "Clearly defined and well made, with violet, berry character and fine tannins. Not quite as good as from barrel. Tasted twice with consistent notes. Drink or hold."
