這是好酒嗎？ 有人可以介紹一下嗎？謝謝

Penfolds是澳洲極具歷史的一家酒廠，目前為南方集團成員之一，詳細介紹可在其網站找到(www.penfolds.com.au)；Penfolds的頂級酒Grange Bin 95品質卓越，不但是澳洲最貴的酒，也號稱是南半球第一好酒，Wine Spectator與Parker對此酒幾乎每個年份都有極高的評分。我個人喝過'77,'82,'86,'88,'89,'90,'91,'92,'93等年份的Grange，風味不盡相同，但確實都極好。

除了Grange以外Penfolds也生產超過20種的各級紅白酒，紅酒方面依等級為Grange, Bin 707(Cabernet Sauvinon), Magill Estate, St. Henri, Bin 389, Bin 407, Bin 28, Bin 128, Bin 2,...等等；因此Bin 389與Bin 407約屬於Penfolds酒廠中等等級的產品，1996 Bin 389零售價約澳幣20元，1996 Bin 407零售價約澳幣17元，就澳洲酒而言也是屬於中價位的酒，國內目前尚未進1996年份的Bin 389與Bin 407，之前年份法蘭絲與橡木桶都進過，我個人認為這二款酒的國內合理零售價應在NT$500-NT$700左右。

Bin 389是Shiraz與Cabernet Sauvinon的混合紅酒，口碑一直不錯，有"窮人的Grange"之美譽，Bin 407則是Cabernet Sauvinon為主的紅酒，口碑亦佳，被稱為"窮人的Bin 707"，由這些外號看來，應不難想像它們的定位。若問這二支酒是否好酒，可能很難有所定論；就我個人的經驗而言，這二支酒都是果味香甜、很好喝的酒，但細緻度、複雜度與質感可能比澳幣30元以上的高級澳洲酒稍弱；以國外價格而言確實是物有所值的澳洲中價酒，但國內價格可能嫌貴了些。(有成龍做廣告之故？)

Penfolds Bin 407 1996

Varietal characters of blackcurrant jam and mint along with the trademark Penfolds oak treatment. The full bodied fruit is balanced some spicy anise characters and eucalypt and a lick of oak. As with all Penny's reds this will cellar well, 10 to 15 years but if you fancy drinking it now do so with roasted meats or strong cheese.

Penfolds Bin 389 Cabernet Shiraz 1996

Senior among the 17 wine companies or stand-alone brands in Southcorp Wines, and undoubtedly one of the top wine companies in the world in terms of quality, product range and exports. The consistency of the quality of the red wines and their value for money can only be described as breathtaking. In 1998 it released its long-awaited super-premium white wine, Yattarna Chardonnay, intended to sit alongside Grange, Australia's greatest red wine. It is also increasingly giving a regional identity to its fighting varietal brands.

A great example of Bin 389. A blend of 50% Cabernet and 50% Shiraz which has been matured for 14 months in American oak, 25% of which was new wood. Opaque vibrant, crimson purple colour - a visual delight. Magnificent lifted nose of violets, blackcurrants, vanilla and toasted oak with a blackberry spice end note. The palate reflects the nose with generous flavours of ripe plum, blackcurrants and liquorice - full bodied and supported by very fine, assertive, yet well balanced tannins, which linger into the aftertaste. Long liquorice, blackcurrant, chocolate and toasted oak aftertaste. A Classic. Cellar 8-10 years.
