Ceridwen is a Welsh name meaning “Poetry Blessed” from “cerdd” (poetry) an “gwen” (white, holy, blessed).

History:
In pre-Christian days Ceridwen was the name of the Welsh goddess of fertility. Although the name is said to have belonged to the mother of Taliesin (the famous bard venerated in Wales), the name was not used until modern times.

The Oxford Dictionary of English Christians Names calls it “not uncommon” in Wales.
