According to Oxford Dictionary of English Christian Names (3rd ed., 1977) Clodagh was first used as a first name by the Marquis of Waterford, who gave it to his daughter, Clodagh Anson.
In Ireland of previous years, it was sometimes used as a translation of Claudia, although the names are not related in the least.
