Eduardo is the Spanish form of Edward, from the Old English name, Eadweard, which means “Rich Guard,” from “ead” (rich) and “weard” (guard).

History:
Edward is one of the few Anglo-Saxon names spread to the rest of Europe. This was due to veneration of the Anglo-Saxon St. Edward the Confessor, considered a model Christina king. In Spain, Edward became Eduardo.
