Kyle Gonzales

Height:  6'2"

Weight:  155

Kyle Gonzales made his HSFL debut in 2001.  Gonzales is the Hobart High School starting freshman quarterback, but has yet to receive an opportunity to play that position full-time in the HSFL  Gonzales spent his rookie season being used primarily as a tight end style receiver scoring 8 touchdowns.  On defense, he was often used as a safety and tied for second in the league with 3 interceptions.  His height makes him an excellent pass defender and he showed that in his first season.  Gonzales has the potential to make an impact as a quarterback sooner or later, but may have to wait until an opportunity presents itself.  Gonzales must have figured that while he was waiting to show his skills at quarterback, he may as well contribute in other ways.  Gonzales has become one of Bob Glover's favorite receivers because of his big frame.  Gonzales showed why in
week 6, by catching his first 5 career touchdowns in one game.  He finished off a solid rookie campaign by finishing second in both the Rookie of the Year and Most Improved Player ballots.  The HSFL hopes that Gonzales will live up to his potential and help lead the new generation of HSFL stars into the future.
