'The Station' at Citigroup Center, 153 East 53rd Street at Lexington Avenue, New York

In the Citigroup Center Atrium was a spectacular free model railway exhibition - a thousand square feet of scenery, nearly a thousand feet of rail, and a mile of electrical wiring.

Barbara Dunham explains the exhibition

25 trains in 3 different scales travel simultaneously. 70 separate train controls and 18 speed controls.

25 animated scenes moving from sunrise to sunset to sunrise every 7 minutes

 

a carnival with a ferris wheel and a carousel

small animated people saw wood, climb trees, run a bulldozer

a drive-in movie actually showed 'High Noon' on the screen

 

the Santa Express races through a spectacular snow-scene high up a mountain north of New York State
