Liz Young BSc(Hon), CFIOSH, FRSH, Chartered Safety and Health Practitioner
Liz is head of health and Safety at Edinburgh Napier University and has a wide range of experience in occupational health , safety and fire including the development and delivery of a wide range of health and safety training.
Liz is a student member of the Institution of fire engineers and a member of various committees including IOSH fellowship and membership sub-committee and vice chair of Lothian and borders fire prevention association.
Liz is also the branch education development officer and has former experience in lecturing and tutoring on NEBOSH courses and is currently a recognised NVQ assessor .

Steve Boucher CMIOSH, Dip.OSHEM
Steve heads the health and safety division of Camerons - Architects, Health & Safety Services.
A specialist in occupational health and safety, he also works in environmental management and has been actively involved with specialist waste management systems.
Steve has a wide range of experience in Occupational Health and Safety and has delivered services to a diverse range of client groups throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland. He also works as a CDM Co-ordinator, Asbestos Surveyor and a Disability Access Auditor.
Steve joined the Edinburgh branch of IOSH in 1997 and progressed to Chartered status in 2005.
Steve is the first to admit his career road has itself been diverse; originally a Chef to trade, he is also a qualified auto electrician, a professional fitness instructor and has spent a considerable time in sales and marketing.

Helen works at Mabbett &

Glasgow-based environmental
consultancy. Helen is the Regional Office Co-ordinator working out of the M&A Dunfermline office. She is an Environmental,
Health and Safety (EHS) Consultant, and is working for a certificate in occupational
hygiene and recently became a chartered
health and safety professional.

Kevin Llyod Bsc, CFIOSH, MREHIS
Kevin joined the Edinburgh Branch IOSH in 1989 when he took appointment as Health and Safety Adviser to the Scottish Prison Service. This followed some 17 years as a scientist with DAFS Agricultural Scientific Services where he had also served as an IPMS Union-Appointed Safety Representative for 10 years with particular responsibility for chemicals and machinery. He has served on IOSH's Initial Professional Development Sub-Committee for a number of years. Kevin also has an interest in youth, volunteer and outdoor (esp. mountain) safety having served as a member of National Activities Team of a major voluntary youth organisation and as a member of the Scottish Mountain Leader Training Board.
Since joining the Branch, Kevin has served as an Executive Committee member, Vice Chairman, two consecutive terms as Chairman and is now Branch Treasurer. There has also been additional involvement at Scottish level with the Scottish Branches Liaison Group and at national level when he was invited to join the Specialist Groups Working Party.

Graeme MacGregor CMIOSH, CRSP, BA, MAPS
Graeme is currently with East Lothian Council as Health & Safety Implementation Officer. The latest of several titles while working in health & safety in various sectors which have included Construction, Quarrying, Higher Education and the Police.
He is keen to see H&S develop a more strategic role in society generally. Furthermore his involvement with winter hillwalking, shooting and diving has shown him how individual members of the public can control hazards with the right training, experience and equipment, rather than attempting to avoid them.

Since graduating from Napier University with a masters degree in water resource management, Ann spent eight years working in molecular biology research laboratories, where her interest in Health and Safety issues developed. She acted as departmental, then University trade union safety representative for MSF for three years, before taking a post as safety advisor and biological safety officer for the School of Biological Sciences at Edinburgh University. From November 2007 she will be moving to the University Medical School as the Central area safety manager. Ann Joined IOSH in 2003 and gained full membership after completing an NVQ level 4 in 2005.
Ann has also been involved in the voluntary sector as a founder member of an environmental education charity. Current interests include acting as co-director/safety advisor for family environmental consultancy business, and keeping up with her baby and toddler!

Max Bancroft MRSC, CMIOSH
Max retired in mid-2008 as Health and Safety Officer at Edinburgh College of Art.
He previously worked for the UKAEA - originally as an analytical chemist, then as a safety training officer and latterly was in charge of radioactive material transport at Dounreay (Caithness) and Windscale (Cumbria). He became a Safety Representative for the trade union IPCS (subsequently IPMS & then PROSPECT) not long after the Safety Representatives and Safety Committee Regulations were promulgated way back in 1977.
He joined IOSH in 1998. He first joined the Branch Executive Committee in 2000 as a co-opted member when he became the Branch Webkeeper and created the Branch Website. He served as Secretary from 2002-2008 and was then co-opted again as Webkeeper. He received the President's Distinguished Service Award for his services as Secretary. He maintains other websites and sings with the Phoenix Singers of Edinburgh.

electrical/ electronic engineering and previously worked as a design engineer
at the Thales defence site (formerly Racal Defence) in Linlithgow for nearly
30years.
He has been
actively involved in health and safety since 1983 and product safety/ safety
in design since 1991

Karen works for RoSPA based in Edinburgh, and in her role as Training Manager, coordinates RoSPA's Training and Consultancy Services in Scotland and the North of England. Karen is also involved in the planning and execution of the annual RoSPA Scotland Congress and Awards Ceremony.
A member of IOSH since 1990, Karen has recently successfully undertaken the Heriot-Watt University Centre for Continuing Education Workplace Health
(on-line) Programme and the IEMA Open Book examinations. She served as Chair of the Forth and Tay District. She represents Scotland's Occupational Health and Safety professionals on the Partnership on Health and Safety in Scotland (PHASS). Outwith Health & Safety Karen's interests are her family, her animals and Portmoak Community Woodland.
