Alvin J. Lowther

LOWTHER, J. Alvin - 81, Brookdale, died January 20, 1994, at his camp
in Southampton. Born in East Leicester, he was a son of the late
Frederick and Josephine (O'Brien) Lowther. Throughout his life he
had worked as a farmer, woodsman and carpenter and, for many years,
was an employee of Satellite Construction of New Glasgow. He was an
avid hunter and fisherman and had a great love for the outdoors. He
is survived by his wife, the former Alice (Dowe) Foster; daughter,
Ghayle (Mrs. Austin Ibbitson), Sackville, N.B.; son, Kenneth Spicer,
Brookdale; four stepdaughters, Shirley Foster, Hastings; Marie
Johnson, Calgary, Alta.; Barbara (Mrs. Kenneth Spicer), Brookdale;
Audrey Foster, Grand Prairie, Alta.; stepson, Charles Foster, Fort
Assiniboine, Alta.; brother, Ottie, Exeter, N.H.; many
grandchildren, great-grandchildren, stepgrandchildren and
step-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two sisters, Ora
Bithomski, Elda; brother, Robert. Visitation will be 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
today in Furlong's Funeral Home, Amherst. Funeral will be 2 p.m.
Sunday in Cumberland Memorial Chapel, Amherst, Rev. Allan Griffin
officiating. Spring burial will in Leicester Cemetery.
