29/95 Obituary-DowDOW, Glenford F. - 85, Moose River, Cumberland Co.,
died April 27, 1995, in Colchester Regional Hospital, Truro. Born in
New Canaan, Cumberland Co., he was a son of the late Freeman and
Lottie (Brown) Dow. He was a foreman with the Department of Highways
for 25 years and was also a heavy equipment operator with Tidewater
Construction for many years. Surviving are his wife, the former
Willena Roberts; sons, Elmer, Costa Rica; Floyd, Lebanon, Maine;
sisters, Mrs. Stella Belle, St. Stephen, N.B.; Mrs. Beryl George,
Medford; brother, Seldon, Sudbury, Ont.; eight grandchildren; eight
great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased
by son, Donald; sisters, Greta, Lyla, Denzil; brother, Hazen; two
grandchildren. Visitation 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today at Smith's Funeral
Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 2 p.m. Sunday in St. George's Anglican
Church, Parrsboro, Rev. John Swain officiating. Burial in St. Mark's
Cemetery, Moose River. Donations to St. Mark's Church.

15/94 ObituaryYORKE, Kenneth G. - 67, Diligent River, Cumberland Co.,
died December 13, 1994, at Diligent River. Born in Campbellton,
N.B., he was a son of the late Everett and Lila (Canning) Yorke. He
served with the Royal Canadian Army from 1955 to 1977. He later was
employed with C.E. Harrison & Sons, retiring in 1991. Surviving are
his wife, the former Mary Canning; daughters, Norma, Dartmouth;
Deborah (Mrs. Merle Watson), Shubenacadie; sisters, Jean (Mrs. Guy
Bowden), Fox River; Mrs. Neta Bowden, Evelyn (Mrs. Richard Lamb),
Eva (Mrs. William Yorke), Diligent River; brothers, Layton, Fox
River; Donald, Upper Stewiacke; several nieces and nephews. He was
predeceased by an infant daughter; brother, Charles. A private
family committal service will be in Parrsboro Baptist Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation of Nova Scotia
or Canadian Cancer Society. Arrangements are under the direction of
Smith's Funeral Home, Parrsboro.
