Reginald Edward Winters

16/96 Obituary-WINTERS, Reginald Edward - 82, Parrsboro, died
April 15, 1996, in Bayview Memorial Health Centre, Advocate. Born in
Parrsboro, he was a son of the late Palmer and Laura (Welch)
Winters. He was a radio and television technician for RCA Victor and
a lighthouse keeper at Cape Sharpe, Parrsboro. He also worked at
Clark & Morris Plumbing and Heating, Parrsboro. He was a member of
St. George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, and member of the
Oddfellows Lodge. He was the last surviving member of his immediate
family. Surviving are son, Reginald, Lower Sackville, Halifax Co.;
daughter, Lorna (Mrs. Ronald Townsend), Martock, Hants Co.;
stepdaughter, Mrs. Beverly Clarke, Parrsboro; five grandchildren;
three stepgrandchildren; several great-grandchildren. He was
predeceased by his first wife, the former Margaret Skinner; second
wife, the former Blanche (Hatfield) DeMont; brothers, William,
Harvey, Eldridge, Carl; sisters, Sadie, Vivian, Inez, Nora. No
visitation by request. Funeral 2 p.m. Thursday in Christ Anglican
Church, Windsor, Rev. E.E. Hill officiating. Burial in Maplewood
Cemetery, Windsor. Memorial service 2:30 p.m. Saturday in St.
George's Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Robert Richmond
officiating. Donations to any charity.

RECTOR, Mary Hazel - 87, Advocate Harbour, Cumberland County, died September
22, 1992, in Bayview Memorial Hospital, Advocate. Born in Advocate, she was
a daughter of the late Beamish and Theresa (Knowlton) Elliot. She was a
member of Advocate United Church Workers. She is survived by a daughter,
Elvie (Mrs. Robert Knickle), Halifax; son, Walton, Advocate; sister, Mrs.
Connie Sheffield, Wolfville; brother, Bernard, Advocate; five grandchildren;
six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, Oscar; daughter,
Jean; sister, Lulu; brother, Harold. The body is in Smith's Funeral Home,
Parrsboro, visiting 2-4, 7-9 p.m. today. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Friday in
Advocate United Church, Rev. Fraser Smith officiating. Burial will be in
Advocate Cemetery. Donations may be made to any charity.
