William David Shay

22/95 Obituary-ShaySHAY, William David - 51, Belmont, Hants Co., died
August 18, 1995, at home. Born in Windsor, Hants Co., he was a son
of the late Alfred and Doris (Spicer) Shay. He was a carpenter and
small engine mechanic by trade. He was a longtime member of the
United Brotherhood of Carpenters Union, local 83, Halifax. For the
past five years he owned and operated his own small engine repair
business in Belmont. Surviving are a daughter, Danita (Mrs. Barry
Cohoon), Scotch Village, Hants Co.; sons, Stephen, Halifax; Jeffrey,
Bedford; Timothy, Mantua, Hants Co.; Duane, Rolling Hills, Alta.;
three grandchildren; sisters, Marguerite Young, Hantsport; Carol
(Mrs. Benny Caldwell), Three Miles Plains, Hants Co.; Patsy Siler,
Windsor; brother, Douglas, Hantsport; several nieces and nephews. He
was predeceased by sisters, Nancy Mosher, Connie Stephens, Claire
Rick; brother, Alfred Vern (Chum). Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 7-9 p.m. tonight, funeral 2 p.m. Tuesday, both in
Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King Street, Windsor, Rev. Doug
Woodhams officiating. Burial in Belmont Cemetery. Family flowers
only. Donations to any charity.


Claire Marjorie Lucille Shay

Born in Windsor, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Doris
(Spicer) Shay. She was a member Royal Canadian Legion, Hants County,
Branch 9, Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Gladwin
Steward; three daughters, Trudy, Williams Lake, B.C.; Kathy (Mrs.
Brian Veinot), Avondale; Wanda, Falmouth, Hants County; two sons,
Dwight, Calgary, Alta.; Stephen, Summerville, Hants County; four
sisters, Marguerite Young, Hantsport; Connie Stephens, Curry's
Corner, Hants County; Carol (Mrs. George (Bennie) Caldwell), Three
Mile Plains, Hants County; Patsy Siler, Windsor; two brothers, Doug,
Hantsport; William (Billy), Belmont, Hants County; five
grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan; two sons,
John, Keith; sister, Nancy Mosher; brother, Alfred (Chum). The body
is in Lindsay's Windsor Funeral Home, visiting after 7 p.m. tonight,
where funeral will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. Garnet Parker
officiating. Burial will be in Newport Landing Cemetery, Avondale.
