Had a brother that went to Australia in 1830's
Benjamin was the oldest son.
Barr is not his middle name-he did not have one. I have used the Barr to distinguish him from the 6 other Benjamin Tippetts in this tree.
Heads of Households-Cities, Towns, Villages, and Settlements of NB 1865-1866 has Benjamin Tippett, sparmaker at the foot of Middle St, Carleton along with Benjamin Jr as a shipbuilder, John Tippett shipbuilder , John Goldsworthy shipbuilder and Tippett&Goldsworthy Shipbuilders, all same address.
He arrived in Saint John in 1832 and was accepted as a skilled shipwright in 1835-K McCullogh
The company built two ships-the Althea and the Marguerite. The Althea sank in 1842.
I have what is reputed to be a model of the hull of the Althea mounted on a board on my dining room wall.
Had a brother Sam Suther who ran a butcher shop in Saint John, NB

1867 obit says left husband and 5 children
presumably the twins Simeon and Peter died-they are never heard from again. Isaac too had died young so the other child who was dead by 1867 is unknown
some question as to whether Isaac died 1860 or 1868- may be poor handwriting that makes it illegible.
