I don't think it's over because of the U.S. Supreme Court vacating the Florida Supreme Court decision, if the comments in the hundred's (seemingly) of articles I read today prove anything. In fact, it sounds like Jesse and the Unions are going to step things up State and Nation wide in response to the GOP mob that thwarted justice in Dade County. They're outraged at such bully tactics (Ha!).
Then there are the "legal" tactics the Dem's plan to use to continue to wrestle more votes before the Dec. 12th Electoral deadline. And even if that passes, they will insist on having THAT deadline extended as well. There should always be more time to recast ballots! Or was that recount?
After reading some of the transcript of the Broward "recount" it's not easy to remain calm. With such blatant vote fraud going on, the Republicans should be taking off the gloves. I could never accept the typical Republican response: "That's Politics!"
If after this the Republicans go back to their political slumbering, which is what they've been doing for 12 years (Ten if you subtract the first two years of the Contract with America), I will no longer be able to accept them as a viable party. You can't fight the rabid activism of the liberal Democrats with quiet "We'll take the High Road" approach. Unlike the Democrats, Republican idealism lacks passion.
The Democrats have always run their politics with a gorilla warfare mentality, which is why they are so effective. It's not just "Politics" to them, it's war. If Republicans think they're going to get anywhere by lying there after getting kicked in the crotch and crying, "See what they did!" then they will not survive.
They need to do the Political Equivalent of: If they bring a knife, you bring a gun; if they send one of your guys to the hospital, you send one of theirs to the morgue.
Don't sound nice? Oh well. I'm not advocating using all the dirty tactics they use, but get out there and fight for the cause passionately and think ahead. We always react to what They say and do instead of being proactive. We can't be timid about our cause, because they aren't going to be timid about theirs.
The Founding Fathers didn't play word games with King George when push came to shove and neither should we because right now we've reached the point where our fundamental freedoms are being blatantly and openly tampered with. There has to be action as well as talk.
We need a Patrick Henry, Theodore Roosevelt or a Winston Churchill. Who ever, we need them Now! Even if Bush does save this election, in two years there's going to be Hell to pay if something isn't done. The assault on Republicans will be even more harsh and relentless and I won't be surprised if it costs us the House & Senate in two years, maybe four if we're lucky. I also won't be surprised if the Democratic allies (Unions, NAACP, etc.) orchestrate small riots to show how disenfranchised the people are about the Republican "take over" of government. Will we just ignore this or what ever else it is they do?
The times, they are a changing. The Republicans better too.
