My Little Boat

I always had an interest in boats, so when I graduated from university, I decided that I would build my own. Not to forget the inspiration that I got from my cousin Maryann and her husband Chris who were also building a boat of their own. They have completed theirs but it took a while as I understand it. After looking around on the net, I settled on the Bolger Brick.

The site mentioned that an experienced builder could put it together in two days, however in my case, after about three years, it is still sitting on it's side in my garage. All was going well at first, my dad heard that I was up to something and came over to help. After much frantic sawing, nailing etc, we manage to get one side wrong completly. Since I am a cheap skate and did not want to buy more material, I made some modifications to the design. It is a little lop sided now, but as long as it floats and lets me sail away and leave the doubting folks and other naysayers behind on shore is good enough for me. One day I will get down to taking some pictures of the boat or bath tub.

The latest as of March 19, 2001. I have turned the boat from its side to facing down so that I can get started again, but with the way things go, give it another couple of months before I actually get down to it.

April 11, 2001, I am one step closer, I have taken a photo of the unfinished boat.

It is now Jan 2002 and the boat has returned to its side and sits in the garage for yet another year. Maybe I will get started this spring.

Ahh how time flies, it is now Jan 2004, the boat is once again on its side in the garage, still uncompleted, maybe this summer.
