Here are the pictures I took while in Rochester and around it. Have fun.
This is me (great news!) in my old office (room #711)
seating at my desk. Usually I don't stay here for a long time because I'm always in the lab. January, 25th, 1999.
This is my private view of Rochester from my room at Goler House. Temperature here
is mild cold, usually below zero degree Celsius. Jan, 25th, 1999.
This is my powerful red Cavalier in my parking lot. May, 1999.
My friends Rodrigo Carceroni and Hellen Pacheco. Rodrigo is a fellow student here at the University of Rochester. They are both from Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil and they'll be going back there soon. I'll miss them here. June 18th, 1999 at their house in Whipple Park.
A dinner Rodrigo and Hellen kindly offered to their friends. Ricardo Bianchini is the one seated. We had a delicious "strogonoff" with rice and vegetables they home cooked themselves. Great! June 18th, 1999.
After dinner we went bowling. I striked 5 times in a single game (plus 4 spares) and my score was 177. I simply humiliated them! (ok, I lost twice after that, but, you know, I got tired of striking all the time...). As usual, I was formally dressed for the occasion. June 18th. 1999.
In a Japanese restaurant with some friends from the University. Of course, my seat is empty.
I'm behind the lenses, sorry! This kind of japanese restaurant is pretty interesting. They cook the food on this big "grill" (or whatever
you call it) and you watch. Usually they play with the food, toss some rice or eggs to you. It's a nice show to watch. And the best part
is eating the show! Jan, 27th, 1999.
By the way, most Rochester's restaurants (about 100% of them) add a helluva lot of ice on your drink. So, if your throat is sensitive
like mine, ask them politely not to put ice on your drink. How come everything is so cold outside and they still need ice on their drink?
Want some ice? Go outside and get it! Geez!
Some folks from the U of R at Rorhbachs. In case you don't know us: starting with the guy with his eyes closed and going clockwise: Rob, Vinicio, Helen, Rodrigo, Amon and Ricardo Bianchini (my advisor).
Are you wondering if it snows here? Nah... I wouldn't worry about it! Rochester (Goler Parking Lot), somewhen in February 1999.
My friends and I in my office (#726) trying to solve some of the thousands of assignments of our first year classes. Sometimes we get together to chat and play a game of frisbee in the hallway at 3h in the morning. From left to right: Thanos, Paul and me. Some night in early December, 1999.
My other crazy friends at Scott's place for an amuzing night of board game playing. From left to right: Thanos, Scott, Mayur. Some time in January 2000.
