EDUCATIONAL
TIPS FOR USING WORDFINDS WITH CHILDREN
Many children love to complete 'wordfinds'
and with a little adult supervision and guidance 'wordfinds can be
turned into educational language activities for children.
For example,
* Read and discuss the meaning of the words
contained in the puzzle with the child.
* Hide the list of words to be found and see how
many words you can find by yourself in the puzzle.
* Give the child clues to determine the location
of difficult words (top left, bottom right, middle, diagonal).
* Give clues about the word to be found (it is
an animal starting with 'l' which is found in the jungle).
* Allow the child the opportunity to take on the
role of the leader, asking you questions about the word puzzle.
