| The capital of Latvia, Riga, surprised me in several ways. It is the largest city in the Baltics, yet it keeps a very rural look (and I mean that in a flattering way). People were very polite and they were always carrying flowers on the street. Apparently it is the costume to bring flowers whenever you're visiting someone, just remember to buy odd numbers! even numbers are only presented at funerals. |
