Since 2006 the Sherwood Forest Ploughing Match has held several ploughing schools, both in the field and at evening tutorials in the 'Royal Oak' Edwinstowe, where top ploughmen have given up their time in order to coach novice or intermediate ploughmen, either wishing to gain the basics, or to further their present skills.

Following the huge success of the 2006/7/8 ploughing schools a further ploughing school was held in the same field over January 3rd and 4th 2009 at Budby.

£330 was raised for the "Overseas Ploughman's Fund"
