of talking like that may infact act like that. Women sometimes complain about 
seemingly enlightened men who lavish respectful attention on them but then, after sex on the 
first or second date, never call again, as if early sex had turned the woman into a pariah.



The minds of men are an evolutionary record of the past behavior of women.  And vice versa.

In polite company, men sometimes deny that they think differently of a woman who 
has slept with them casually.  And wisely so... (Even to admit as much to themselves 
might make it hard to earnestly assure such a woman that they 'still respect her' 
in the morning--sometimes a vital part of foreplay.)

Samoan ceremony... 'All others have failed to achieve entry,.. He is 
first by being foremost, being first he is foremost.  O to be foremost!'

disposition & which is the modifying influence.

In Samoan lore, one deflowered woman is described as a 'wonton woman, 
like an empty shell exposed by the ebbing tide!'

...in the psychology laboratory, David Buss has found evidence that men do 
dichotomize between short-term & long-term mates.  Cues suggesting promiscuity 
make a woman more attractive as a short-term mate & less attractive as a long-term 
mate.  Cues suggesting a lack of sexual experience work the other way around.

...emotions are just evolutions executioners.

if it is harder to drag men to the alter today than it used to be, one 
reason is that they don't have to stop there on the way to the bedrooom.

Consumation can alter the balance of affection.

The male's genetic inerest, meanwhile, often lies in speeding things up, 
saying things that will melt the woman's reserve.  High on the list of these 
things are intimations of deep affection and eternal devotion.  And nothing 
produces more convincing intimations then FEELINGS of affection & devotion.

Another ploy children use to extract resources from parents is to embellish their needs.

In any polygynous species, some males mate prolifically and others fail entirely to 
reproduce.  So mothers in poor condition might profit (genetically) from treating 
daughters as more valuable assets than sons.  For assuming the mother's poor health 
leads--through skimpy milk, say--to frail offspring, it will bode especially ill for 
the sons.  Malnourished males may be shut out of reproductive competition altogether, 
wheras a fertile female in almost any condition can usually attract a sex partner.

The anthropologists Betzig & Turke, working in Micronesia, found that high-status 
parents spend more time with sons & low-status parents with daughters.

Animals, including people, often execute evolutionary logic not via conscious 
calculation, but by following their feelings, which were designed as logic executers.

TIT FOR TAT was just what its name implied.  On the first encounter with any program,
it would cooperate.  Thereafter, it would do whatever the other program had done on 
the previous encounter.  One good turn deserves another as does one bad turn.

after looking closely at chimp & human society, one might suspect that, from natural 
selection's point of view, status assistance is the main purpose of friendship.
