EEE students won the international awards

         Three students of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering department of BUET have secured the first place in the prestigious Myron Zucker Student Design Contest organized by Industry Applications Society (IAS) of the Institute of Electrical & Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Inc., New Jersey, USA. The second and third prizes of the competition were earned by Ohio Northern University and Tennessee Technological University, respectively. Khandaker Rakibur Rahman (Olive) , S. M. Shajedul Hasan (Nasim)  and Mohammad Ahsanul Adeeb , all of whom are final year undergraduate students, have attained this honor because of their design project titled "Design and Development of a Microcontroller-based Solid-state Prepayment Energy Meter". The design project was performed under the supervision of Professor S. M. Lutful Kabir of BUET and with the assistance of SIEMENS Bangladesh Ltd. This is one of the highest international achievements attained by the Bangladeshi students so far. .Dr. Robert Noyce Simulation Laboratory

           Dr. Robert Noyce Simulation Laboratory is a new addition to the department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BUET. This laboratory was funded by the Intel Bangladesh Association (IBA). This laboratory is equipped with 39 Pentium-4 microcomputers with a high speed  modern server. All computers in this lab will be connected into a common network. Different types of simulation software will be available in those computers which will used by the undergraduate and postgraduates students of this department.
