God Is Good

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God,
to those who are called according to His purpose.

Every once in a while we run into problems.  Break-ups, losing a loved one, failing our examinations, losing our job; and in the Christian life, the testing of our faith, struggles, persecution, etc.  The list goes on and on.. None of these are pleasant.  None of these make us feel good.  But these do not change one thing - God is good. "If God is good," some ask, "why does he allow evil in the world?"  Honestly, nobody can fully answer this question.  Only God knows his purposes: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways and My thoughts than your thoughts (Is 55:9)."  But the presence of evil does not imply a God that is less than good.  We may not understand the presence and purpose of suffering, but we do not need to.  We only need to trust that despite what we see or feel, God is good, and he works all things for good to those who love him and are called according to his purpose.  He always has.  He always will. Situations do not change the goodness of God (Mal 3:6).  God is not good because he does good.  He does good because he is good.  And he is good all the time.
