He Prays for Me
“Therefore He is also able to
save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him,
since He always lives to make intercession for them.”
- Hebrews 7:24,25 -

How I love this verse. Saved to the uttermost!
Other versions render it “save completely” (NIV), “save forever” (NASB),
“once and forever, to save everyone” (NLT), “for all time to save”
(RSV). I checked out the Greek just to be sure. The word
means: 1) all complete, perfect; 2) completely, perfectly, utterly.
Do you see what it says? Once saved, always saved! Otherwise
he has not saved us completely. Otherwise his salvation is less than
perfect. Otherwise we are not utterly saved. But he has saved us to the uttermost, since he always lives to make intercession for them. Do you think that while Christ is praying for you, you can lose your salvation? Perish the thought! God always gives his Son what he asks. Look at how Christ prayed for Peter, “Simon, Simon, behold, Satan demanded to have you, that he might sift you like wheat, but I have prayed for you that your faith may not fail; and when you have turned again, strengthen your brethren (Luk 22:31,32)." And notice that he said “when you have turned again”, not “if you have turned again”. He was sure that he would get what he prayed for. And sure enough he did. In the same manner he prays for you, my friend, if you are his. Take comfort that while he prays, no one can snatch you from his hand (Jn 13:28). Before the throne of God above |
