The Nature Photographer

"The heavens are telling of the glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands."
- Psalm 19:1 -

The nature photographer's eye is ever alert to the dynamic canvas of creation.
He appreciates the detail in each snowflake
and the vast beauty of the sky at dusk.
He marvels at the life of the teeming forest
and the majesty of the snow-capped mountain.
The depths of the sea are his workplace,
the savanna is his home.
The bright coloured flora and fauna are his subjects,
the camera is his tool.

He waits.
His keen eye scans the canvas.
He measures the light. He sets the camera.
He bears wind and rain,
and endures heat and cold.
His camera is ever ready.
His eye is ever alert to capture that fleeting moment - that perfect picture - on film.

As one who types from a manuscript is to its author,
so is the nature photographer a recorder -
a recorder for the Artist who paints on the ever-changing canvas of creation.
But the Artist is Creator God,
from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.
