Born in 1974, Lisa Snowdon first came to fame in the UK as the very fit girl in the Kellogs Special K advert. Wearing a striking red swimsuit, she jumped about in slow motion on a beach. If anything would make you want to eat Special K, that may well be it. She featured in other commercials for Lynx, Faberge and Dove, and appeared in many fasion catalogues. She also released a CD along the way which didn't make it very far into the public consciousness. She then landed some work presenting on MTV UK and Ireland, which coincided with her brief ascent to the international levels of celebrity.
But Lisa really popped up on the international gossip radar when she began dating George Clooney (who you may have heard of... he's a Hollywood actor). It's unclear how long they went out, or how serious it was, but eventually that romance hit the rocks, and Lisa has returned to the less heady heights of local celebrity with a bang.
Before long she was competing with has-beens and never-weres to date the latest boy band members. In 1999 she received the Mark Of The Lost: her management put about a rumour that she was being considered for the part of Lara Croft in an as-yet-to-be-developed film of Tomb Raider. At that time the role was being claimed by everyone who was anyone... and a lot of people who weren't. It looked like Lisa could easily become the cautionary flip-side of the Catherine Zeta-Jones story: just two years before she married Michael Douglas, Catherine was voted the celebrity most Blackpool visitors would like to share their fish & chips with... honestly! Catherine avoided the fall in style - by marrying into Hollywood royalty. But Lisa looked to be in danger of judging knobbly knees competitions.
But the entertainment business is full of second chances and phoenix-like resurgence. By 2002 Lisa was on MTV, VH1, BBC's venerable Top Of The Pops music show and ITV's Lynx Extended Play. In 2003 she hosted Spring Break Live, and in 2004 Miss World. She is the current host for Britain's Next Top Model 2006, and enjoying a fairly high profile.
