On the evening of Saturday, January 6, 1996, snow began falling in Washington, DC.  It did not stop until Monday morning after dumping 20-30 inches on the area.  Three smaller snowstorms that week following the blizzard kept the city buried in the white stuff, paralyzing all ground transportation and grinding commerce and the government to a complete halt.

Everything’s ducky for these guys!

Peaceful scenes abound away from the snow-choked streets.
