One day, I will bring you out of there. I promise you, with 

every single force that I have, I shall bring you out of there...

Chapter I~ The beginning

            At the city of Lioness, birds were chanting a melodious song to praise this beautiful city. It was always crowed of people of different ethics. Although each person had their own special traits, the one that stood out of them the most was a hooked person, unknown to be boy or girl. He or she walked in the middle without caring for the looks for others and turned in a dark alley on his or her right. Because a lot of usual people usually came to the city of Lioness, they quickly forgot about him or her.

That hooked person looked his or her surrounding and walked, through the alley, to the main street of the city. There, a big commotion started. Since the prince was going out of the castle, people were all there to greet him. The prince was probably the most recognizable person in Valkyrie, the country where he was the prince.

People bowed at his present. He showed no sign of pride or superiority and was calm. Although he was only fourteen years old, he was very handsome. With just one look with his oceanic eyes, the heart of the young girls would fall in love. His dark blue, that was near the color of black, hair was a little bit longer than the normal length for boys’ hair. It was covering a little bit his face. He brushed his stands on his face with his hand and went down from his horse. At his thigh, a long sword was there. As he went down, the float of his cape went along smoothly. No sign of aggression was shown.

The hooked individual stood there until the prince was forced to go with the partisans because they all wanted him to go visit them. Suddenly, a shorthaired girl cried out loud:

“MONSTER! HELP! MONSTER!!!”

            Everybody started running away. The hooked person reacted to it and murmured few words. Immediately, a bow and arrows appeared in her hands. Just when she was about to attack, the prince reappeared out of the sky and slashed the beast with his sword. His brilliancy got the attention of every person that was near the center of action. The hooked one, seeing that he or she will be of no use, made her bow and arrows disappear and went away during this big fuss. The prince, named Roy Al Zeltrac, let her go without a word.

“The kids of today... They are so impolite!” A citizen said.

“Yeah! you should at least say thanks!” Another one said.

“...”  

  The girl did not have any reaction. She looked at them for few seconds and turned to go away. Then, a strong blow of wind blew at them. Without the time to hold on to her cape, her face was revealed. She had long and curly black hair. There were two stands of hair that she rolled it in white ribbon. Her purple eyes let a small leek of emotion of surprise but concealed it without delay. The aura that she had gave an impression of innocence. Her skin was very white, almost as pale pas snow, and soft. Her beauty amazed everyone, and, where she started to walk away, they all opened up a road for her. Without wasting another second, she walked out of the city.  

            This world was divided into three countries: Valkyrie, Walkure, and Salkerye. They were separated according the natural resources. In Valkyrie, the majority of the earth was of forest and agriculture. Walkure was well known for the amount of water that it contained. As for Salkerye, it was at high altitude, which created a barrier between the other two countries.

             The castle of Valkyrie was named Lacertilian. Walkure’s one was Wingasirum and Salkerye’s was Whistanium. There were a lot of cities and villages in each of those countries. Despise their differences, there was one thing in common between those three marvellous places; they all had temples all over their land. The temples were to greet the all mighty God, Lenora Eldora. No one in the land would denial the name of this powerful God. She was the hope and light of all the people in the three countries.

At the castle of Lacertilian, Roy Al Zeltrac was on his way to see the king. During his walk to there, a girl, named Reithia, jumped on him and circled his neck with her hands. Her pink hair was in a big braid, and her blue eyes were showing joy and happiness. She was wearing a Chinese style of sleeveless short red dress and a pink ribbon that surrounded it.

“Roy! You are back!” She said.

“...”

“ You are really no fun, Roy. You never talk to me.”  

“...”  

“Sometimes, I wonder if we are really brother and sister.”  

“...”  

“I am going! Byebye!”  

            At the throne room, Roy greeted his father the king. After the disappearance of the servants, the king began to talk with him in an ordering manner.

“Roy, tomorrow is the preliminaries exam for the ones who wished to become a royal guard. Make sure that there will no perturbations during the starting of the fights. Another disturbance will result a punishment so horrible that even you cannot imagine it horror. Is that understood?”

“Yes, father.”

“What did you just call me?”

“Yes, my king.”

“That is better. Now, be gone.”

“Yes, your highness.”

            The stars of the night were disappearing and soon, the morning will be saluting us with pride. Although all the people were greeting peacefully the God of sleep, there was a pair of dark eyes that remained open. When the cloud passed the moon, its light showed the person’s face. It was a girl of fourteen years old, the same girl that surprised Lioness’s citizens with her prettiness. Her dress, which was covered by a cloak early that day, was white. Her collar was of feathers, and so was her belt. She wore a pair of long gloves with black ribbon. Her socks, which reached till her knees, were like her gloves. She was wearing a short dress along with a black fabric, which was long until the floor. From her back, it looked like a dress. Her top was a high-colt type, which flipped till her chest, and her back’s clothe had drawing of a pair of wings. She wore a very special necklace. It was a light-aqua circled stone, accentuated by a darker aqua colored crescent. In the middle of the crescent, there was a small light blue crescent. The bottom of that necklace was like the point of an arrow. A pair of wings accompanied the larger crescent.

 She gently swept away the dust on her clothing and put on a cloak that covered her hair. She checked if her dress was already and turned a whole turn. Then, she started to walk. From her back, she looked like a loner trying to find a home. She advanced more and more until she went into a cave.

 That cave had nothing in it. That girl went to the left side of it, counted to the fifteen rocks from the entrance, and used some kind of magic. After her movement, an orb appeared. She placed her hand there and transported to elsewhere.

            Roy wanted to go to the lake where he used to go after meeting with his father. He first went to his room, then hit the wall next to his bed, and finally used magic on the orb that appeared after his attack. Like the girl in the cave, he disappeared.

            Each country had specific transportation systems. The one that Valkyrie used the most was the orb transportation. All buildings had at least one entrance of this transportation. Of course, they are normally locked by powerful magic. The one on the roads or in public service places were not closed. It permitted most of the people to go to different places in a flash of time.

            At the lake, Roy saw a small light providing from the direction of the middle of the lake. He went there and saw a black haired girl dancing on the surface of the water. The light of the moon reflected the water of her surrounding. It seemed that she was on a stage. When she danced, the water went out of the lake and created some kind of shining jewelleries. Her white and black dress flowed along the water, and the ribbons attached to her hands moved along the wind. She formed a so beautiful image that the boy did not dare to dare to disturb her. When he looked at her, he noticed that she was the same girl that he saw today in Lioness. He let out a small sound of surprise, and that distracted the girl. SPLASH! She felt into the water. Without hesitating, the boy jumped in the water to help her. He swam deep into water and searched for her. At the moment he reached to her, he realized that her body was as cold as ice. Her eyes were closed, and her breath was slim to none. He immediately brought her back to the water’s surface.

            When he went there, he noticed that numerous people surrounded him. They all carried the scent of blood and held weapons.

“Give us that girl or else.”

“What do I gain from it?”

“Your life.”

“My life is still here. Why should I listen to you?”

“You will die NOW!”

            All the people with weapons went to attack him. He dodged their first attacks, but the heaviness of his wet clothes caused his speed to diminish greatly. He couldn’t go underwater to avoid the attacks or else that girl would have no more breath. With no other ways to do this, he jumped out of the water, used an invisibility spell, and started to run away. However, the water on him revealed his position. They began to assault him with no mercy. Sensing some movements, the girl woke up. She opened her eyes. Seeing that she was in the way of the boy, she hit his hands with enough force just to shake his hands off from her. Then, she jumped up and arrived to the floor safely.

“She woke up!” One of the intruders said.

“We will still have to get her! No matter what!”

“She will have no chance if we all attack together.”

“Yeah! Let’s do this!”

            They all charged to attack her. As if she did not see anything, she remained there motionless. At the moment the attacks were about to hit her, a wall of mud covered her surrounding and prevented the assaults from her. She made an arc and arrows appeared and shot at her enemies. All he arrows hit her adversaries, but she did not kill them. All the wounds were specifically hit at a spot that will unable them to move and nothing more.

Suddenly, a person appeared. He was a boy with long silver hair and dark purple eyes. The bottom of his face was covered by a cloak. He clothing was nothing but black. On the back of his clothes, it had the same symbol as that girl. He had also the same necklace as her, but the difference was that he had it in a left-eared earring instead of a necklace.

“It is a pleasure to meet you again, my beautiful Elwynn.” He said. “

“…”

“Mine, mine, now you don’t want to talk. Hum, shall I make you to talk?”

“…”

“Oh well, guess I can’t expect much out of you because you never liked to talk. Am I right, Elwynn Eleanor?”

“…”

“I see that you had not killed my worthless servants. You should have because I will kill them anyways. Useless people are not worth living. And you are worth living. This is why we have gone so much trouble trying to find you. But… I did not expect to find you so quickly. You are usually better than this. What is the reason of this?”

“…”

“If you don’t talk, I’ll just force you to!”

            At his words, fireballs attacked the girl. One by one they hit her. Seeing that she’ll get seriously hurt, Roy instantly made a blade with water and deflected the fireballs.

“Elwynn, I know that you will not care for your own life, but, do you not care for the life of the person who is protecting you? Come on, just say one word. One word is all it takes for me to withdraw my troops.”

“…”

“Wait! Why are you forcing her?”

“Step aside. This is between her and me. You have no business in our family affair. One more word and I shall kill you.”

            He wanted to say something more, but the girl put her hand on his mouth to shut him up. She advanced to that mysterious person and looked at him face to face.

“Do you want to try to defy me? You know that you will lose, so why bother trying? I promise you that if you just say one word, I will let you go.”

“…”

“You will have better chance to survive if it is the ‘others’ who come to you. With me, you have absolutely no chance. So, are you saying it?”

            Elwynn tried to speak, but, at the moment she tried to, blood went out of her mouth. Roy wanted to go to her side to see if she was all right, but the white haired one secretly put a sleeping spell on him. Afterward, he continued to talk.

“You see. You are not suited to go outside of ‘there’. Once you do, you know what consequence will come to you. If you return to me, I will forget your escape and assure you your safety. So, are you coming back with me?”

“Chris…Please…” Cough. “Don’t…” Cough. “Kill…” Cough, cough, cough.

            More blood came out of her. At the time she was about to faint, the boy named Christopher caught her. He carefully put her into his arms, swept away the blood on her face, and took out a dagger. He used it to slide his finger and draw a spell on the ground. He gently placed her in the middle of the spell and activated the spell.

“I would have never expected you to talk this much… But if I don’t do this, the people of the head of the clan will say that I went easy on you. You can’t go out of there yet… You are still not strong enough… I am not too. I am still not strong enough to protect you… One day, I will bring you out of there. I promise you, with every single force that I have, I shall bring you out of there...”

            After his words, he took her with him and disappeared under the light of full moon…

            When Roy woke up, he realized that it was already the morning. He quickly went back to the castle and changed his wet clothes. He went to the preliminaries fight’s arena, greeted his father, and started the matches. During the time of the fights, his concentration was elsewhere… He was still shock of what happened yesterday. That girl, will she be all right? There were no traces of her after what happened. He tried to focus more on the fights but couldn’t. His mind was preoccupied by Elwynn’s presence.

            He did not even notice the appearance of a not-invited person until she appeared. She looked someone around twenty years old. Her short white hair, her purple eyes, and her clothes reminded him of the person who took Elwynn.

“What a disastrous match! You call this fighting? I call this playing, no not even. This is child’s play.” That woman said.

“What is the meaning of this?” This king was furious. “Who are you, and what are you doing here? I want an explanation NOW!”

“Man, what a noisy person.”

“State your name! It is an order!”

“No one is my boss. Oh well, there might be one. But you are not my master, so I don’t have to listen to you.”

“How dare you speak in this manner with me?”

“Even my master doesn’t order me around like that. Now, now, now, what was I doing here? Oh yes!” She went to the young prince. “I was here because I have nothing else to do. And my instincts told me to go here. Hum… Here is where the matches for being a royal guard, right? This is so pathetic. Even my weakest apprentices can beat them with no problem. And I thought that there would be something to watch here… Oh well, guess that I can’t always true my instinct. This is no fun, I’m going.”

“Wait! Here isn’t a place where you can come and go anytime you want! Guards! Arrest that person now!”

“And I thought that I am short tempered…”

            She slipped her hand, and a strong current of wind blew everyone in her path away. After that, no one dared to advance to her. Just as she was about to go, the small prince stepped into her sight.

“Wait…”

“What do you want? A lesson on how I should respect the king of Valkyrie? Spear me from the speech.”

“No… Actually, I was wondering if you know a girl named Elwynn…”

“Elwynn? Yeah, I know her.”

“Where is she right now? What is going to happen to her?”

“I don’t know. It is not in my rights to know about that. It is usually Christopher who does that. Why do you ask about her?”

“I… hum…”

            He looked at his father’s furious eyes and shut up. That girl walked to him and touched his front head. Suddenly, he felt like part of him flew out of him. She let out a small sound of surprise and gave out a smile after.

“Roy, I believe that that is your name?”

“Hum… Yeah…”

“What will you do if I can help you?”

“Huh? Help me in what?”

“You know what I am talking about. ‘That thing’, in your body.”

“You… How…”

“I will tell you later. I can help you, or at least there is someone I know that can help you. So now, what do you decide to do?”

“I…”

“Come with me. I will teach you to control it.”

“…”

“Do you not want to control it too?”

“Yes! I want to!”

“Then, shall we go?”

“Yes!”

“It may take years and years, you know. You may as well abandon your position as prince. Are you sure that you want that?”

“Being prince is nothing to me.”

“And your most dear family?”

“I have no family.”

“I just wanted to make sure that you wouldn’t regret it. I will ask one last time. And once you have made up your mind, you can never change it. Are you sure that you want to throw away everything and go with me?”

“Yes. I am sure.”

“Then, let’s go. Oh! Do you want to say goodbye to your father?”

“He heard our conversation. That’s all he needs to know.”

“Sure, then let’s go. Oh! I guess I should tell you now. My name is Trina. I am a member of the clan named Shaloring.”
