Night One  Round One

Night One

Round One

Barbed Wire Bat Deathmatch

Frank Dylan James & Danny Rose
versus
Angel of Death and Rob Sharpe

In a wild opening match the fans got to see two of the tournament favorites in AoD and FDJ take it to eachother, and everyone else around them. The match ended when Rob Sharpe rang Danny Rose's bell with the barbed wire bat and pinned him in the center of the ring while Frank and AoD were brawling through the crowd.

Barbed Wire Board Deathmatch

Erik Cross & Ulfric
versus
Adam Burke & Corey Reznor

The second match of the night saw the reformed team of Ulfric and Cross take on the makeshift team of Reznor and Burke. All four men battled in and around the ring, and the barbed wire boards came heavily into play. In the end Adam Burke took the pinfall after being double powerbombed through a board set up in the corner.

Barefoot Thumbtack Deathmatch

Ezra Naderzad & Stephen Greer
versus
Jak Nemesis and Wone

This match got the first "You Sick Fuck!" chants of the night when Ezra missed a top rope double-stomp onto Nemesis and took the full brunt of the thumbtacks. The end of the match came when Greer hit his Broken Wingz finisher on Wone, hard, in the center of the ring on a mass of thousands of thumbtacks. Wone had to be helped from the ring as he looked to have sustained an injury.

Light Tube Dumpster Deathmatch

Robert Divine & Umaga Reihana
versus
Ty Taylor & Evan Hurley

It was in this particular match that things got violent. Umaga and Taylor beat eachother's brains in, all over the arena, and outside. Hurley and Divine started inside the ring in what could have been called a "wrestling" match until Divine got the better of Hurley and The Butcher remembered it was a deathmatch. All four men ended up outside before things came back in near the ringside area, and all four men wore crimson masks of blood. The end came when Ty Taylor made his way up to the top rope, but Umaga ran and made an insane leap that connected a Busaiku Knee Kick that sent Taylor flying into the Light Tube Dumpster and elimination.

Barbed Wire Bat Deathmatch

Joe Victor & Ronnie Long
versus
Johnny R. Royle & Johnny Olympus

Victor and Long made a dubious team, Joe peed on himself when Long threatened to smack him. The Johnny's were... disappointing. Royle was very "hardcore" and Olympus was very "same old shit." At about the three minute mark Ronnie Long jammed the barbed wire bat under the former WWA World Champion's jaw and slammed his head and the bat down into the mat, sending the barbed wire into Olympus's throat. Long then allowed Joe Victor to take the pinfall over the former Champion. Olympus had to be stretchered to the back due to a serious cut in his throat that would not stop bleeding.

Barbed Wire Board Deathmatch

Blue Collar PA & Aaron Vasquez
versus
Brian Fisher & Curtis Penn

PA wanted to dance, Vasquez wanted to be "gangsta." Penn and Fisher, while not all together friendly toward each other did in fact wish to advance and beat some people up. Vasquez suffered a double-team while PA danced in the crowd, in the end Chico took a stuff piledriver through a barbed wire board, and he looked to have landed very wrong. He was pinned by Penn and quickly stretchered to the back.

Barefoot Thumbtack Deathmatch

ULTIMO Madden & Big Black Atomizer
versus
Fappity Baytor & Christopher Barton

This match was a cluster that saw everyone limping from the outset because of the sheer amount of thumbtacks used. The match actually ended with a small package as BBA wanted very little to do with the thumbtacks. Barton, somehow, managed to get a thumbtack in his eyeball as he was being rolled up and went immediately to the hospital after the match.

Light Tube Dumpster Deathmatch

Chris Marks & Harley Jackson
versus
Wally Renfield & Tyson Debough

Everybody here came to play, mostly, and much like the earlier match of the same sort, everyone bled buckets. In the end Harley Jackson was Super-Bombed into the Light Tube Dumpster and elimination. He, too, paid a visit to the local Las Vegas hospital due to serious cuts and abrasions from going back-first into a dumpster filled with Light Tubes.

Losers Bracket

Tai Pei Deathmatch

Johnny R. Royle
versus
Frank Dylan James

This match got underway before the intermission was even over with, as Frank had decided to go outside of the curtained off area into the Neonopolis to have a beer with the fans after he'd glued and glassed his taped fists. Royle had the same idea, and it broke down from there. Both men had reputations as brawlers, but Vegas was Frank's home turf currently and he had a huge following from the fans as the two fighters tore their way around the venue. Both men were bloody messes, and they even fought through the merch booths before making their way toward the ring. Once they made it to the ring and the fans had settled back into their seats both Frank and Royle started pounding away on each other. In the end, Frank took the advantage with his fists of redneck fury and landed a knockout punch before scoring the pinfall. He left the ring and celebrated in the crowd for a few moments but seemed very woozy as he had several cuts that simply would not stop bleeding.

Unlucky 13 Light Tube Deathmatch

Evan Hurley
versus
Corey Reznor

For the first time of the tournament, the light tubes came into play heavily in this match, obviously. There wasn't much for wrestling at all going on here, as both men were scrambling to get up to the limit of thirteen tubes smashed over their opponent to win. Hurley took an early advantage getting the score up to 6-3 in his favor after winning a light tube duel by headbutting the final one into Reznor's face. The brawl got wild and went into the crowd for a bit before Reznor got the advantage by suplexing Hurley through a chair. He went over to the section that was roped off and full of gimmicks for later matches and he found the "Open" sign that he himself had brought, and he smashed it over Hurley's head! Corey took them back to the ring and they continued brawling. In the end, Reznor won 13-12, but he really looked the worse for wear after some particularly nasty shots from the Double Crown champion.

Barefoot Thumbtack Deathmatch

Fappity Baytor
versus
Blue Collar PA

You could tell from the outset that neither Fappity nor PA wanted anything to do with the thumbtacks, and Fappity threw a tantrum when the referee made him remove his boots. The two tip-toed around each other and the tacks, trying not to get hurt before they even got started. The crowd hated this, and even though Blue was popular, both wrestlers got booed heavily at the outset. Blue, figuring that the only way to get things going right was to dance, started dancing. On the tacks. Seriously. The SUCK champion saw this as an opportunity and he tried to go for the Cream of Fappity while PA was distracted, for his troubles he got kicked in the gut and powerbombed right onto the tacks. PA pinned him right then and there as Fappity wailed in agony. The crowd was into the quick match and PA even tried dancing in the tacks some more before it just became too much.

Light Tube Texas Deathmatch

Chris Marks
versus
Jak Nemesis

This was a mismatch from hell. Jak stood four inches taller and was twenty pounds heavier than Chris Marks, and boy did it ever show. Marks tried, he swung tubes and he took to the air, but in the end Jak was just to big, too strong, and too violent. Marks wouldn't stay down, no matter what Jak through at him or how many light tubes he smashed into his face, the kid just wouldn't stay down. In the end, Jak crumpled Marks with his Euthanasia jumping double-arm DDT, and Marks simply could not answer the ten-count.

Log Cabin House of Pain Deathmatch

Angel of Death
versus
Rob Sharpe

The AOD/Sharpe match started slow with the pace rapidly picking up as the veteran AOD pushed the action against his opponent, which started more as a straight up contest until it spilled to the floor. AOD was the first to eat glass when he badly telegraphed a dive to the outside causing Sharpe to roll away and let AOD dive back first into the first of three glass log cabins. Sharpe took full advantage and got sick with it, using the shards of glass to dig away at any uncut part of AOD's body, including one sick moment when he started drilling a shard into his face! AOD got the crowd on his side by not only surviving, but fighting back! Eventually AOD caught Sharpe off guard when he was up top looking for the coup de gras with AOD out on top of one of the remaining Log Cabins. AOD rushed up and hit a brilliant Frankensteiner off the top right on to the Log Cabin! AOD didn't waste any time and went out for the last one before ascending to the top rope and then in one of the most sickening things ever... DOVE OFF THE TOP SUPERFLY STYLE AND CRUSHED THE LOG CABIN BETWEEN HIMSELF AND SHARPE! With the crowd going bananas in the background the three count was a foregone conclusion.

200 Light Tube Deathmatch

Stephen Greer
versus
Ezra Naderzad

The 200 Light Tube match pitting multi-time death match tournament winner Stephen Greer and his opponent Naderzad quickly became an unusual and perhaps a hilarious contest as once things got warmed up the insanity and hilarity ensued. It all started after several tubes had been destroyed with Greer picking up a light tube and swinging wildly at Naderzad, forcing him to duck and weave and dive and roll until he also got his hands on one. It didn't get funny until Greer started breaking out in Darth Vader mode with some parodied lines from the movies directed at Naderzad. It got serious again when they finally clashed light tubes causing them to explode in each others faces, a frantic pace took over as they both started diving and rolling around grabbing one light tube after another as if it were a kung fu action flick come alive! Light tubes were exploding and sickly gashes were opening all over both guys arms, backs, and chests as the tubes would either hit flesh or explode against another wildly swung light tube. It finally came to an end when Greer ducked not one, but two light tubes as Naderzad was dual wielding them in a whirlwind of violence until Greer found and opening and hit a kill shot right on Naderzad's THROAT! Naderzad however manned up and crushed a tube right on the shocked Greer's face and then a second and a third and a fourth until Greer toppled to the mat and Naderzad collapsed on top of him for the three. The good news? Naderzad won. The bad news? Naderzad's throat was fucked in half from the shot he took and would be unable to continue as he was rushed to a hospital immediately.

4 Corners of Violence Deathmatch

Ronnie Long
versus
Joe Victor

Ronnie Long and Joe Victor clashed in a 4 Corners of Violence match, featuring in one corner a razor wire board, a light tube board in another, a bed of nails in the other, and a board that had cheese graters nailed to it in the last corner. This was more of a bar room brawl with wrestling moves than anything else as the high impact moves were seemingly used to break up the monotony of smashing each other into and on to the four soon to be bloody and flesh covered boards. It got real interesting when they started taking turns at brutalizing each other in the most horrific ways. These ways include Joe Victor laying the long busted up light tube board on top of a prone Ronnie Long and then dropping the from the heavens with a Double Foot Stomp, breaking the board and imbedding shards of light tube in Long's entire back and head! Long got his revenge when crushed Victor between the cheese graters and the razor wire boards by repeatedly Stinger Splashing him in the corner. When Long was done the boards were STUCK into Victor's body and didn't come loose until Long PULLED them out. Victor however got the last laugh when he MAIMED Long's arm with the bed of nails, repeatedly stomping the board into Long's shoulder and bicep, but could not finish him! Victor tried to put Long in a coma with a chair shot straight from hell, but it did nothing but wake Long up who roared as he exploded forward and nearly decapitated Victor with a Lariat for the ages using his mangled wing. Long seemed to feel something go wrong in his arm after this, but pushed onward powerbombing Victor on the bed nails to get the pin. Afterward Victor lay crying in a pool of what was probably piss as Ronnie Long was helped to the back, wobbly from the loss of blood in the cuts in his arm.

Caribbean Spidernet Deathmatch

Ultimo MADDEN
versus
Big Black Atomizer

Ultimo MADDEN and Big Black Atomizer start off their match with some extreme power wrestling. Ultimo MADDEN takes advantage after a gruesome suplex into the barbed wire spiderweb. Big Black Atomizer rips off one of the strands of barbed wire and started to choke Ultimo MADDEN with it. MADDEN is able to fight off Atomizer off the choke hold. He takes the strip of barbed wire and wraps and ties it around the waist of BBA. Blood completely soaks the bottom half of Atomizer’s body, in addition to the cuts on his back from the earlier suplex. The match ends when both men take a fall through the spidernet with Big Black Atomizer somehow landing in a pinning position. After the three count, medics rush to the scene for both men.

Glass Pane Deathmatch

Wally Renfield
versus
Tyson Debough

Wally Reinfield takes an early advantage over Tyson Debough with a suplex after an evenly matched initial minute of the match. Debough gets a few moves in once in a while, but Reinfield mostly dominated the first half of this match. Reinfield really takes control when Tyson goes through the first glass pane after a well angled belly to belly suplex. After a few minutes of tangling with the bloody Debough, Reinfield seals the victory after putting Debough through the second with a German suplex. Reinfield has the rare opportunity of leaving a deathmatch unscratched.

Barbed Wire Board and Nail Board Deathmatch

Curtis Penn
versus
Brian Fisher

Brian Fisher had a small pop when he hit the ring, but it was nothing compared to the one for Curtis Penn. Curtis Penn, with a bit of a fan following coming into this match, draws the first blood when Fisher hits him a board wrapped in barbed wire. Penn retaliated with a board to the chest of Fisher. The highlight of the match is when a board with a six inch nail finds its way through the hand of Brian Fisher. The tip of the nail pokes through the back of Fisher’s left hand. Fisher nearly won the match despite the board nailed to his hand when he got a small cradle on Penn. But in the end, Curtis Penn won the match and advanced in this death trap when he hit his Curb Stomp and the three count.

Barbed Wire Board Illuminated Light Tube Deathmatch

Umaga Reihana
versus
Robert Divine

This match got nasty in a hurry. Umaga knew that Divine could likely out-wrestle him, so he went immediately to the plunder, bludgeoning Divine with whatever he could find from chairs and ringsteps to leftover light tubes from the previous match. It went back and forth for a while once Divine backdropped Umaga through a barbed wire board and got a chance to catch his breath. Both men stayed clear of the lights for as long as possible, which only served to get them hotter and hotter until Umaga managed to DDT Divine onto them, burning both his own back and arm and Divine's forehead. The end came after Divine got his third or fourth wind and managed to put Umaga through the last remaining barbed wire board with his Intervention swinging neckbreaker.

Barbed Wire Bat Homerun Derby Deathmatch

Ulfric
versus
Erik Cross

The Main Event for Night One was one of the most hotly talked about possible second round matches since it was released to the public that Ulfric and Cross had managed to draw each other as partners. Ulfric and Cross had been in the ring together before, both as partners and opponants, and they both had reputations for their legendary violence. Once the bell rang, both men equipped with barbed wire bats, they charged each other and swung for the fences. They each connected, sending the other man down in agony. Neither man was down for long though, and Ulfric tried to take the advantage by swinging at the downed Cross, but Erik blocked the shot and sent the butt of the bat hard into Ulfric's face. Cross took quick advantage and hooked the bat around the back of Ulfric's head and shoulders and dropped him hard with a Dragon Suplex that almost ended the match early. They battled back and forth for over thirty minutes, going through the crowd, sending chairs flying back and forth and literally tearing up anything they came across up to and including the drink stand. The end came when Erik Cross, having had enough punishment, managed to wrap some sort of towel from under the ring around his bat and light it on fire! He swung at Ulfric twice before connecting with his stomach, and then he dropped a hard one down onto his back for good measure. He pulled the groggy Ulfric up and hit his finisher, Six Feet Under, before getting the pin. The fans went crazy for this oldschool collision and Cross and Ulfric both raised their hands after it was over, with Cross shaking Ulfric's hand and pulling him in for a macho "shoulder hug" before both men made their way back to the back.
